GAY rock star Sir Elton John has delivered an "up yours" message to Prime Minister John Howard for opposing same-sex marriages.
Sir Elton, in Sydney last night for the first of three concerts, said he was unimpressed with the lack of legislation to protect gay couples in Australia.
The 59-year-old and his partner David Furnish last December became one of the first gay couples in England to tie the knot in a civil partnership ceremony.
"It was just a commitment I wanted to make because I love him, and vice-versa, and it was just a great day," Sir Elton told the Seven Network.
Asked what he would like to say to Mr Howard about his views on gay marriage, Sir Elton replied: "Up Yours".
It's Mr Howard's second dispute with a high profile rock star this month after he had differences with U2 frontman Bono over Australia's funding for third world countries.
The Howard Government earlier this year scuttled plans to allow gay marriages in the ACT.

At least he didn't say "Bend over", before he said "Up yours."...I guess thats the polite way with Elton.

Nah, too easy. I'll skip this one.
You first, Elton.
I see nothing of note here; up yours is probably a common phrase from Sir Elton.
LOL!
Reggie (Elton's real first name) sure has a lot to say lately, doesn't he. Recently he let us all know that he thought religion should be outlawed, and now he's mouthing off to heads of state.
At 59 years old, isn't he already above the life expectancy of the average gay male? Maybe he'll just go away before too much longer.
He's made some great songs in his career, and he should take Laura Ingraham's advice and just "Shut Up and Sing".
Doesn't he have that backwards?
Elton is sure running off at the mouth lately - just a week ago he suggested all organized religions should be banned as they inspire hatred.

Isn't that special!

BARF!

How eloquent! And a knight too! He sure can play the penis .... errr, piano I mean!
These rock stars - who the hell elected or appointed them to any position of political power?
Poofter!
