Florida's fine, but how is Michigan left out?
If you're Michigan coach Lloyd Carr, how do you explain to your players that they won't be in the BCS Championship Game? How do you tell the second-best team in the country to get pumped about playing USC in the Runner-Up Bowl? How do you resist the urge of wishing Nutcracker drills on every person who jumped one-loss Florida ahead of the one-loss Wolverines in the final polls?

Seems that Ohio State can't get a break with the press.
Gene, Gene, Gene, what are you smoking?
On Nov 18th OSU racked up 503 yards on that oh so physical team.
OSU broke two, count em two, 50+ touchdown runs by two different backs on that oh so physical Wolverine team.
Smith was sacked just once, ONCE while he shredded the Wolverines for four, count em FOUR TD passes on that oh so physical Wolverine team.
I'll tell ya Gene the game was a lot further apart than three points indicate. We dominated that oh so physical team in the first half and take away a couple unforced errors in the second half and we would have cruised to a 10+ point victory margin.
Michigan had their chance, they lost.
Bring on another #2 team. OSU has to beat three #2 teams from three different conferences this season to win it all. Works for me.
Congratulations Florida for making the Championship game.
Go Buckeyes!
Very well said!
You sure do complain a lot.
they get ALL the breaks on the field so, I guess it doesn't matter now does it?
Won by 3 at home... And Michigan was banged up...
OGNTSA!

Good one. Hilarious! Are you aware that Florida is a southern state? Just wondering.
On another note, how is OS not getting a "break with the press"? The media has fawned over the Buckeyes since about 1940! They've really outdone themselves this year.
The Big Ten needs to add a 12th team, split into two divisions, and have a conference championship game.
Florida had an extra game to prove themselves; Michigan didn't.
This was the big difference for BCS voters.
IMHO, with no dog in the fight, Michigan is a legit number 2, and I would love to see a rematch on neutral turf. Florida will get stomped by OSU. Michigan is the only team that can give them a game.
I think Michigan is probably the second best team in the country. I also think that it's better for OSU and UM to play these bowl games outside of their conference.
The MSM via its pollsters voted Florida in over Michigan, and now they are covering the snub. Gotta hand it to them, they know how to generate stories.
Oh, so it doesn't count--Michigan gets a do-over.
Now Michigan can get its vengeance against USC for that Bowl game in 2003.
Three points, three hundred points it still was an L for Michigan.
If Michigan would have won they wouldn't have this issue, OSU would then be going to the Rose Bowl.
Michigan gave up 6 touchdowns, they have no one to blame but themselves ( and a good OSU offense).
I'll tell ya, if Michigan wants to prove themselves then they had better show up Jan 1st and put a whooping on USC. I will be cheering for Michigan to do so.
And like wise I suggest Wolverine fans cheer for OSU to beat Florida. If both our teams win then there will be no doubts both teams are 1 and 2 in the nation.
We want more !!!!! :-)
Ha! Stay tuned my football Freeping friend!
how does #4 FL jump in front of #2(Michigan) by beating #8 or for that matter how did #3(USC) jump in front of #2(Michigan) by beating #6?
Because the pollsters didn't want a do-over. For whatever reason. Michigan probably is the second best team in the country. I could have seen picking them. But they had their shot, and didn't win their conference. Florida did, and hasn't yet faced OSU. They had a brutal schedule and only lost 1 game, and that was a close one. Whichever team was chosen, the other had a valid case. A snub was bound to happen. That's the BCS.
remove "one" game from the back of the schedule (11 game season) then a 2 game playoff...(so all teams will play at least 12 games...(The first playoff game "statistically will count as the students 12th regular season game" to keep with tradition)
we have 1 extra playoff game then the bowl game...
But Echo Talon, Why only 1 extra game?
well... why have some kid get injured for bragging rights... 1 extra game seems like the balance we need to fix the mess we are now in.
Won't matter. ESPN last year could have been described as "All USC, all the time" and it didn't hurt Texas any when all was said and done.
Bookmarked for Jan 9th...
