Another day has passed with listening to the comments made by several of the programs, it's surprising the disconnect at FNC. Yes, the Yankees are an incredibly popular team in the NYC metro area. That feeling doesn't translate to the vast majority of viewers comprising the cross sections of the country (memo: BOR, Fox & Friends, Forbes, W'end Fox & Friends). Nevermind we're in the midst of the NFL & NCAA football peak seasons ...
btw
There were two segments with Jeter on FNF yesterday. While he was pushing his new cologne and several business ventures, did anyone hear a disclaimer that Gretchen's husband being his business agent?
This interview seemed very out of place in time/season ... with the obvious exception of it being an arranged informercial.
It is the Christmas shopping season.
disclaimer or informercial? Without the disclaimer ... when does the line blur between the program and commercial advertising? Does the consumer become aware that the PD has seamlessly merged the two?
I can't stand "Fox and Friends". I don't care for these cutesy morning shows. I'd rather have straight news before I leave for work in the morning, not 3 buffoons sitting around chatting about cologne.
..launching a product 3 weeks before Christmas is not very unusual, plus the fact that there was a bevy of Avon ladies there since Avon is the manufacturer...nothing unusual there The announcement of the MVP was just a week ago...timing?...no problem there. Fox also uses Tiki Barber on "Tiki" tuesdays as a guest host (before football season and usually after for a while). Who is married to who, and who does an appearance is really nothing new when it comes to promoting a product or a book deal....... In other words I think your bias is showing

It doesn't matter, at least it shouldn't matter.
"......did anyone hear a disclaimer that Gretchen's husband being his business agent?"
Yes, it was stated that Gretchen's husband is Jeter's agent. It was an 'Aha moment' in this house providing an answer to how she has secured her media positions.
So you don't think that's disengenious for a host to have guests' sell products for their (the host) personal financial gain, without clarification? Very different from the standard announced commercial sponsorship that all programs carry.
Brian Kilmeade makes Fox & Friends well worth watching.
they intterupted Mr & Mrs Happy for all that?
I watched it for years. I like Steve and Brian but have stopped watching since E.D. left.
You forgot to mention that Victoria Secret models were plugging their Wednesday night special. They had me rivited.

Why did E.D leave? Haven't watched it in awhile, obviously.
I don't know. She was in a new time slot the last time I looked.
E.D. has the afternoon gig with Hemmer, my guest it's easier on her with all those kids...

Gretchen is cute, BUT she just doesn't have the legs to wear her skirts above her thighs....
Brian and Gretchen joked about her husband being Jeter's agent, Brian teasing her that Jeter's interview must have been an "easy get." So the information was given to the audience, and I saw nothing wrong with it. If I were hawking a new product at Christmas time, I'd go on TV when ever possible.
We're making a big deal because an athlete who's releasing a new product came on a morning talk to promote it? When was the last time you saw a celebrity on a talk show who wasn't there to promote his or her latest movie, book, album, or product? The precise reason that I like F&F is that it's lighthearted and entertaining. I spend the majority of my day having to be serious, so F&F serves as a refreshing departure.
Personal financial gain of a host's family member is very different from a commercial or personalized owned product. It's unheard of to have talk hosts sponsor their signficant others' personal business ventures. At least not in the quasi-successful ratings band.
Very seedy.
