I've got a couple of engagements to get to soon, so I think it's only fitting that I leave with a signature "I Love You Guys" post.
The last one was Easter of 2006, if you recall.

New Year's is really nothing more than a calendar change to me. The great thing about it is that we place great importance on reflection and optimism towards the coming year. We look back at what we've done, the things we could have changed, the things we didn't, and the things we resolve to do--whether or not we keep them after two weeks!
I really didn't expect to be posting on FR on New Year's Eve, 2007, but here I am. This odd little cadre of Freepers known as the Undead Thread has brought me back. It's very easy to get outraged and constantly agitated with the state of affairs in America, and the world, for that matter. The UTers--and you know who you are--take that into consideration and yet celebrate the greater aspects of life.
Thank you, all. It's been an interesting ride, and I hope our future destinations are half as interesting as Mars.

Same is pretty much true here too. I can't say how many I've slept through, though I'll be asking LoM to wake me up for this one. 2008 is the year that WA state will elect its first Republican governor in a quarter-century or so (well, re-elect to be exact, but this time we'll overcome the fraud).

We always have a good time putting our new calendars up. We didn’t get as many free ones as we have in some past years, but three of the kids bought their own (sports cars, cats, and penguins).

"We always have a good time putting our new calendars up." New calendars? Whatever for?
Only Fourteen Years
Im looking at my Calendar, and ETs looking back,
Way back in 1983 that fella had a knack.
He didnt need a band-aid, or other medicine,
Just held a glowing finger up, and up zipped up the skin.
Fingers are salutes for us, this year just as back then,
And purple is the in thing now, to dip your finger in.
But back to this strange alien, and why hes here with me,
And why Im looking at some dates from Nineteen Eighty-Three.
That year began on Saturday, just like the current one,
And it was not a leap year, so when all is said and done,
The calendar I have in hand will serve me well this year,
For every date will line right up, as each month does appear.
For there are only seven ways to start the New Years play,
And only on the leap years do you need that extra day,
So fourteen calendars are quite enough, no matter how you age,
Just shove the old one in a drawer, and dont mark up the page.
I know the Nations printers will be annoyed Ive made it known,
That you dont need to purchase what you already own,
But think of all the Playmates who can give that happy smile,
Now that they realize they wont grow old for quite a while.

I did that last night, before I went to bed. It’s an old habit. I think my mother must have done it...maybe hers did, too.
I hope your New Year is a great one!

Thank you, and the same to you!
We always put our new calendars up on the 1st. We also (since my childhood) used to handwash all our sweaters on New Year’s Day, but now we don’t have any sweaters that need it!

LOL!
(Lest I date myself...)
When I was a teenager, acrylic sweaters were the new wool.

My mom always liked wool. So do I, in fact, but we just don’t wear sweaters much at all. Sweatshirts are easier.
