Fellow FReepers
Please post your 2007 New Year's Resolutions below.
Yea, I know, some of you don't believe in 'em, etc., but after last year, we do need some change.
So, please list them here, no matter what subject or relavance.
We can then review them on occasion through the year to see how we're doing.
Go for it !!
TOPICS:
KEYWORDS: 2007; resolution; resolutions

I'll start:
1) Meet & get to know some FReepers in my area (Twin Cities).
2) Contact my elected officials much more often and help keep our Right Wing officials "on the Right".
3) Help start a Bill that will hold accountable that the Child Support money being paid out by the Non-Custodial Parent be spent & used on that Child. Any monthly money left over goes directly into a College Fund.

I resolve to be LESS tolerant of people who engage in "bumper sticker" politics. So far I've been fairly polite to those who say things like:
Clinton lied, nobody died
No blood for oil
Defend America impeach Bush
War is not the answer
...and other such banalities which only identify the speaker as someone who has a brain the size of a walnut yet thinks HE'S the smart one and it's HIS duty to try to inform everyone else how the world works. I've had enough of these arrogant pricks and I'm no longer going to go out of my way to spare their feelings in my replies to them.
Other than that I'm perfect and don't need to make any New Year's resolutions.

My Resolutions
1.Spend less time at the computer.
2.Cancel #1.

That's a good resolution! I think I should incorporate that into my own resolution to be less tolerant of others.

You sound like me. One of my hobbies is genealogy. I spend hours checking into leads I find. Guess that is why I have over 13,000 names in my FTM. Life is too short not to do what I enjoy and then to pass it on to others. I found that our when our daughter died in 2004 and then this year when my brother died in May and my husband died on 8 Jul 2006.

Let's see. Where to start.
1) Lose 30 to 40 lbs.
2) Be more politically active by contacting my elected officials more often and voicing my opinions.
3) Obtain my LEP and work towards earning my admin credential.
4) Move closer to where I work so I don't have to commute 2.5 hours one way.
5) Go fishing more often so that paying the ridicules price for a fishing license feels more worth it.

I don't usually post in these New Year's threads, but this year was especially difficult for me losing 3 members of my family in a 5-month period. One was my favorite brother-in-law, the next was my mom (93 yrs), and then the worst, my 36-yr old son who had multiple cancers.
I'm looking forward to the NEW year.
I wrote a book which was released in October, and it's getting good reviews from family and friends. My former Pastor (who's now with another world-famous ministry) has offered to assist with sending the book to his ministry's promotion's person and see if he can help me promote the book.
I've also launched 2 websites which I hope to promote better by using the techniques from a marketing class I'm taking. Through the book and the websites, I hope to have enough income to get out of debt .. which will allow me to work the websites from home (instead of working for someone else) .. and my long-term goal is to be out of debt this year (or as soon thereafter as possible) .. allowing me to purchase a 4-plex or 6-plex, where I can live and the other tenants will pay the mortgage. I have friends who own a lot of property who will be assisting me in that endeavor.
While the sadness of this year will be with me for awhile, I'm very optomistic about my personal fortunes being improved this year and the next.
The secret to resolutions is to make them realistic and easily doable. The more resolutions you can accomplish the more encouraged you'll be and the easier the next goal will be. So, I will list my resolutions:
1. Get out of debt.
2. Concentrate on marketing class.
3. Get website for book up and running.
4. When debt is paid - start looking for investment property.

LOL!
Last year I started taking martial arts classes. I think I should start referring to it as "face punching school". I can't wait until we start working on the groin kicking part; that should solve a few of the more difficult problems that face punching won't solve.

2) Add to my firearms collection
3) Possibly position myself for a 2008 run on a political ticket as a conservative in Minnesota politics. Will get active in MN politics one way or the other though.

What are yours? Since I've never really kept through with one in the past, perhaps I'll try a different approach this year...
Eat more fried & fast food.
Add 2" or more to the waist line.
Be tolerant of leftarded idiots.
Won't try to get a promotion/raise.
Won't ski at all this winter.
Won't paddle at all this summer.
Won't get a trophy moose and/or caribou this fall.
I'll let you know how it worked in a year :-)
