The mother of a boy convicted Friday in the gang rape of an 11-year-old girl on Labor Day told a judge the girl was also to blame and that her son was the victim of "little flipper girls" who think it's cool to have sex with multiple partners.
That prompted Milwaukee County Children's Court Judge Mary Triggiano to abruptly interrupt her.
"What he did was rape that girl," Triggiano said, calling the deflection of responsibility to the girl appalling.
"He got caught. He didn't take responsibility until something pegged him

Court records show that eight members of the boy's family, including his mother, had agreed to testify that he was at a family reunion until 10 p.m. the night of the assaults - until the boy's DNA was shown to be among the evidence found on the girl.
And each and every one of them should face jail time too.
obstruction of justice imo.
I just read the rest of the story. I think I am going to lose my breakfast.

Just read the rest of it. Sickening.

Yep.
It's a sickness in this society that people no longer take responsibility for what they do--nor will they allow their kids to accept responsibility for what the kids do either.
Eleven? Wow. Prayers for that little girl. It's going to be a tough thing to get over.
Yeah, silly old-fashioned me. I thought Flipper was a TV show.
Just sick.
It was new one for me too. Beyond sick.
This is not society, this is aberrant behavior.
But on the other hand, this may be normal for a specific subculture, but what the hell, it's diversity and multiculturalism to the "rescue", anyway.
Add their ages back into the story and you have a bunch of very underage kids, none of whom could be considered "innocent", engaging in very adult behavior, seemingly consentually. It is very, very disturbing. When I was 11, girls were still playing with Barbie dolls.
The judge should first look into charging the parents of the kids involved, then deal with the kids.
I have my doubts. A lot of people are completely in the dark for what is "hip" these days and what kids are doing behind mom & pop's back.
Anyone that has been unfortunate enough to take a look at MySpace can tell you that.
"My baby ain't never hurt nobody."

I hear you, what do we do about it..............
It's a sickness.
True it is a sickness.
And, where and when did this sickness get promoted.
The sixty's are still being talked about very much today. A time for free love and, if it feels good do it!
The left is still pushing these ideas today and, some of the sixties group are in high government positions today.
A once moral country on its way downward due to liberal ideology.
Just curious: Is this one of those communities run completely by liberals from individual precints to mayor and even state and congressional reps?
And, silly old-fashioned me, I thought "flipping" had something to do with real estate.
It might have had its roots in the 60s, but it came into full bloom in the 80s when the whole "I'm a victim so I'm not responsible for anything I do" philosophy was born--and replayed over and over on shows like Oprah and in the bookstores with a gazillion books telling people that whatever they're doing, it's someone else's fault.
"Court records portray a motherless girl who longed for a mostly absent father and who tried to do the right thing even when it hurt.
Her mother died of AIDS, leaving her 18-month-old daughter infected with HIV, records state.
"In the latest assault, the girl told police that she had a crush on a 16-year-old girl and went over to her house to visit on Monday. The older girl then directed her to have sex with three teens and a 40-year-old man. When the 11-year-old later went to the basement, she told police, she was confronted by up to 15 other boys and men and performed various sex acts with them."
"A 15-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of party to the crime of first-degree sexual assault. Records show he was placed on one year of probation in October 2004 for possession of cocaine. In August he was placed on one year of probation for auto theft and possession of marijuana.
His mother, records show, is a long-time drug addict who has served time in prison. A relative who became his guardian said that in the past the boy was "living on the street and moving from home to home."
Perhaps if we started throwing the parents (if known) in jail, they'll start monitoring the activities of their kids.
This ISN'T "our" society!!!
(What political party is the dominant force in Milwaukee politics? Hmmmmmmm....)
"My baby ain't never hurt nobody."
A triple-negative. So that means...ummmm...
Recommendation #1, mom:
Learn how to speak English.
--Milwaukee is one of the few places to have elected a Socialist mayor-years ago--and I mean the political party, not self-styled--
"I have my doubts. A lot of people are completely in the dark for what is "hip" these days and what kids are doing behind mom & pop's back."
Take church out of society and this is what you get. Kids seeing this behavior normalized on TV and movies and being told in school that its ok with no guidance from parents is a recipe for disaster.
That is true. And it should (and in this case will) be punished. But don't also pretend that this is quite the same as a rapist violently kidnapping and forcing sex on an innocent girl, threatening her very life. That's a brutal crime of a far different and predatory nature. It just is.
It doesn't excuse this crime at all, but it's OK too for justice to distinguish differences like that, IMO.
Well then is it time for the laws to reflect the reality of what is the new morality? Age of consent laws reflect an older morality, that was more Christian in nature. If a Christmas Tree is offensive to some, a morally based law must be much worse? The "Flipper", is certainly a victim under the old morality, but in her culture, if she if freely acting normally, I wonder why waste any more taxpayer money on this? (Yes I do know why, but sometimes one wonders.) It could very well be that everyone involved deserves each other, because it is their culture and morality.
The entire story (including sexual assault by a relative when the girl was six or seven -- plus several cases of parental drug addiction) is a screamingly-loud condemnation of a racial culture that is totally corrupt.
Good question.
Wish I had the answer....
But a 14-yr old boy can?
I share your outrage. It is almost too much to bear. I live in the area and have heard about this story since it broke.
But we simply can't draw a border and say that this isn't "us" or "ours". We have responsibilities to that poor child and all the others like her. Conservatism is not about not caring, its about showing our care through effective government and respect for the existence non-governmental "little platoons" like religious institutions. God would not forgive us for not being concerned and wanting to make a better world for all our fellow citizens.
Yes, Milwaukee is a liberal hell-hole. This is why its important to fight for our ideas.
I have a decades old friendship with a liberal who is on the staff of a religious school in Milwaukee. We were discussing the War on Terror and suddenly he knee jerked that Bush is "imposing a theocracy". Our friendship ended at that moment. No rational person can look at the events in the inner city of Milwaukee and think that the problem is the imposition of religious beliefs on the citizenry. I can't respect a "religious educator" who thinks that religion is important for the elite kids in his private school, but it wouldn't be right to promote religion elsewhere in society. You are so right, it is his side that brought this about.
We need to make it more and more possible for God to be in the ghetto through love and concern. Any governmental action which breaks down the family or the church has to be opposed and reversed. That is the only solution to this break down in civilization.
Why refer to "parents?" Anybody want to bet on the likelihood of a father anywhere around?
WI Ping
That's been a digusting case to follow. Animals.
The boy's been duly convicted. Time to release his name.
He's ben convicted as a juvenile. The name won't be released.
just day-um...
What do we do about it? I really wish I had a good answer. I read the original story and a couple of posts of additional information and wonder if there is any possibility of salvation for anyone involved.
