Inman's 72-year-old James Hylton turned the 15th-fastest lap during Wednesday afternoon's test session at Daytona International Speedway.
Hylton's lap of 185.445 mph was almost 5 mph faster than his previous best laps Monday and Tuesday.
Hylton, who ran 11 laps Wednesday, was just .053 seconds behind Jeff Gordon, the day's 10th-fastest driver.
