Okay, part of Northcom's responsibility is to find out what people are talking about that affects the security of our borders. I don't have a problem with Rumsfeld and the Northcom commander attending this meeting - in fact, it's a good intel opportunity that they'd have been derelict to miss. Is there anything in the released documents that points to the military folks agreeing with erasing the borders? Almost certainly not. So what's the writer trying to prove by including them in the story?

There's a border? I don't believe it. Prove it.

I choose to not believe this article until I hear it from a more reliable source. Rumsfield is not the Secretary of Defense anymore.

Somethings going on here. Can't say exactly what it is, but I don't believe that this is some cooked up 'conspiracy theory'. Too many people are talking about it.
And too many people are venomous in denouncing it as hogwash.
Time will tell.

"For one thing, the Judicial Watch spokesman takes issue with the idea of taking the North American "grid" the U.S. shares with Canada and integrating it fully with Mexico." What exactly does that mean?

Well, if the SecDef was working on plans to take over those other countries, what's the problem? Realistically that's the best way to seal the borders. Fortress America relies on water, not fences, for protection. Cleaning out Mexico would go a long way toward solving a lot of problems.

Per some previous articles, that border erasure is supposed to take place by the year 2012. That's just 5 years away.
That is one way for Bush to effectively make all the illegals here now legal. Just let them wait until the announcement that the borders no longer exist and those former illegals are now legal, because were are all one big happy family of the Union of North America.

I don't doubt that there are elements within the U.S. Government who believe it is in our best interests to become one with Mexico - the part I'm having trouble understanding is, how is absorbing a poor, third world backwater nation like Mexico, whose culture and language are far different than ours and whose poverty and corruption is legendary, in the best interests of an advanced, industrialized society like the United States?
