My Dragon Fly and Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

The Weather Channel is forecasting a Nor-Easter for all of New England, New York and into Ohio over the weekend, Sunday being bad weather.

I agree. Snow can be a real burden. Thanks for including the carpet on my page.

I have priced silk carpets in fine stores, they ain’t cheap. I love the feel of them, so soft and rich. It’s gorgeous! I like the other one, too.

Buying a Persian takes a lot of time (hours). To look at the carpet at first glance all may seem fine. However the following should be followed when purchasing a Persian Carpet:
- Place the carpet directly under an overhead light
- Rub the nap in several directions and observe the color change. Do this both ways
- Take one corner and flip the corner up and observe the quality of the tied knots
- Walk around the carpet continually to see if there is any different shades within the same color. If there are shade differences, that means that they ran out of the same color dye and they tried to replicate it. The carpet is not as valuable if there are differences
- Was the carpet hand made or machine made. A close inspection looking at the symmetrical design is a good clue. If there are differences, then the carpet is hand made. Machine made carpets do not display imperfections Kerman, Tabriz, Esfahan, Elizabeth and other carpets are beautiful and expensive. Pure silk carpets are very expensive.

There is a definite process to go through when considering a Persian Carpet. I would love to have one-it will not be in this lifetime. ;)

That’s me champaign taste, with a beer purse. LOL

The Elizabeth carpets are natural colors (brown, tan and white) and are beautiful. They aren't rare and are relatively inexpensive when compared with the other types.

No big deal. ;)

I have a white wool Aubusson rug in the living room. Soft pinks and blues in a floral medallion pattern.

Pure silk carpets are very expensive.

Wonder why that is. Takes more to make a rug, is more rare than wool??

Flying Carpets

The Flying Carpets go sailing by
as they float along in the great expanse of sky,
some made of silk and some made of wool
all beautiful and colorful,
with designs that go back to ancient times
to those that have distinctive lines,
a fun trip to be had is for sure
while you sit there and take the city tour,
to see sights you had not learned in school
to some that would be “way cool”,
a pull on the carpet’s left side would turn the carpet to the right
and amaze the passengers without fright,
a lift of the front will make it rise
as it lifts higher and higher in to the skies,
to reduce speed you push down on both sides
this slows the air current to the underside,
while speeding up the air current above
then all of a sudden you soar like a dove,
the set-up for landing the carpet droops the front down
as it starts a gentle glide slope toward the ground,
on final approach the carpet begins to hover
as passengers get off and run for cover,
because the landing site can be anyplace the pilot so desires
the street, a rooftop or alongside a buildings spires,
cheap transportation and good for the environment to keep it pure
it has no meter and no need for fossil fuel to be sure,
just a great imagination is a good as it can get
as I set off into the sunset on my Flying Carpet.
