Our group just got a big shipment of new Dell desktops with and we installed Ubuntu Feisty Fawn on them (and with Beryl installed, they rock!). We plan to use them as our main development boxes, although I still keep my Windows box for the legacy .NET applications.
Ubuntu LINUX is enough to make anybody forget about Bill Gates and Microsoft.
Actually, the process of installing Ubuntu and getting all my hardware to work on my Dell laptop gave me a new appreciation for my Windows XP.
However, though I dumped Ubuntu, I am now using Mepis 6.5 and loving it.

I’ve had easier times installing Ubuntu on several computers than I normally experience with XP. But the things which really make Ubuntu are the update and Synaptic managers. That’s so far above Windows it’s not worth talking about.
The only trouble I'm having with Mepis is installing new themes. There doesn't seem to be a standardized method and the Theme Manager doesn't want to recognize the different packages.
I'll just have to keep picking away at it.
