In an announcement planned for later today, it was learned that ABC will hire conservative Ann Coulter to replace Rosie O'Donnell on "The View".
A spokesperson for ABC said, "While exceptionally talented Progressive Rosie O'Donnell was an excellent catalyst for high ratings and lifted us to the pinnacle of daytime television with her wit, charm, warm personality and ability to present rational, thoughtful insight to issues of the day and we'll truly miss her, we think Ann will show America the polar opposite of rational thought with her deep rooted, albeit incorrect, conservative beliefs. We think her conservative views will not only provide much needed comedy relief, but it will enable those who have no jobs and nothing better to do than stay home all day, eating Bon Bon's and watching shows such as "The View", to be better equipped to vote for the Democratic of their choice on election day."
They continued, "We want everyone out there to know that by hiring Ann, we're proving we're a fair and balanced network and do not favor one party over the other."
Developing...
Ha ha...don’t get my hopes up...
Is this your opus?
IS THIS TRUE!? I’ll have to watch the view. When does it come on, I’ve never ever watched iot before.
Riiiiight.
oops...wow...guess i should read the whole article first, THEN post...lol
We all know that a 100 pound Ann will never fill a 300 pound Rosie's spot.
I see this isn’t from the Onion!? Makes me wonder if they think they can just use her as the dumb conservative straight man. Pounce on her when she says something they think is over the top. They’ll be surprised.
I’d actually watch The View if it had Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin on it. Especially if they had a very special Jello Wrestling segment.
opps - me too! It would be fun to watch though. (BTW - what exactly IS a bon-bon?)
That’s a much fit for her.
She’s quite disappointing as a writer/columnist whereas, although I’ve never seen her on TV (don’t own one), people I respect have told me she was quite impressive during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Some people are like that — their oral skills far outstrip thier ability to write.
Good for her. She’s been floundering lately. This should help her get back into a more stable situation.
Barbara doesn’t like to be contradicted or made to look dumb. I can’t see her going up against Ann on live TV. Ever.
One classic bon-bon is a small ice cream ball, hard frozen, then dipped into melted chocolate and refrozen. There are any number of variations.
riiiiight....LOL!
opus was great on the andy griffith show..wait, that was opie..sorry..
This absolutely has to be a hoax. ABC (the Mickey Mouse “network”) would never have Ann on even as a “guest host” though come to think of it, Ann would have had a ball being on against the Rosie.
ping
opus...is a penguin, I think.
yes, yes he is in Bloom County and other strips..
I think your afternoons are still free!lol!! Or mornings, whenever that dumb show is on. But wouldn’t it be a hoot to have Ann Coulter on that show!
I think some enterprising network should give Ann her own show! Think of the ratings!!!
Very funny.
My, you are hard to please, aren’t you! I think Ann Coulter is a great writer and I enjoy everyone of her columns! She drives her point home with great humor!
Hey Dawg,
You angling for a job as Ann’s agent? BTW, this WOULD make for some interesting viewing.
TG
I was almost believing this joke until I got to this part.
The MSM would sooner slice their wrists than display the candidness necessary actually to verbalize that deep-rooted conviction within them...
heh..I have to put something in there to give it away..:-)
We do know that liberals and progressives are all about "fairness".
So we get three Anns.
Just saying...
“My, you are hard to please, arent you! I think Ann Coulter is a great writer and I enjoy everyone of her columns! She drives her point home with great humor!”
You’re not alone. A lot of people enjoy her writing.
But from what I’ve heard, and again I’ve never seen her on TV because I don’t own one, but from what I’ve heard she was impressive back in 1998-1999 and could make a case that could sway people who weren’t already convinced of the conclusion, as opposed to just being really good at whipping up the choir into an satisfying frenzy.
I keep looking, I can’t find Scrappleface’s name anywhere.
YGBSM!
“ME: ok, put down the crack pipe....you dont get three ny times best sellers, and nationwide columns if you have poor abilities to write.”
Really?
Do you think Spiderman 3 is the best movie the world has ever seen?
Stuff sells for lots of reasons. In Ann’s case, people weren’t buying her books because she writes terrific prose. They were buying them because they liked what she had to say and the snarky way she’d say it.
Cute!
It would be must-see TV, but they would *NEVER* allow the libby-libs on that show to be upstaged, much less verbally filleted.
ok, I give up..what is YGBSM??
Ann would be a mere dingle berry in Rosie’s seat.
You’ve Gotta Be Sh*tting Me.
ROTFLMAO, GeorgiaDawg32 you are too much, and even though I’m a Georgia Tech fan, I like your style. : )
REDMOND, Wash. - May 08, 2007 -- In direct response to accusations made by the Department of Justice, the Microsoft Corp. announced today that will be acquiring the federal government of the United States of America for an undisclosed sum. "It's actually a logical extension of our planned growth," said former Microsoft chairman Bill Gates, "It really is going to be a positive arrangement for everyone."
Microsoft representatives held a briefing with Speaker of the House Nacy Pelosi (D-CA), and assured members of the press that changes will be "minimal." The United States will be managed as a wholly owned division of Microsoft. An initial public offering is planned for July of this year, and the federal government is expected to be profitable by "Q4 2008 at latest," according to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer.
In a related announcement, Vice President Dick Cheney stated that he had "willingly and enthusiastically" accepted a position as a vice president with Microsoft, and will continue to manage the United States government, reporting directly to Steve Ballmer. When asked how it felt to give up the mantle of executive authority, Cheney smiled and referred to it as "a relief." He went on to say that Microsoft has a "proven track record," and that U.S. citizens should offer the new arrangement their "full support and confidence." Cheney will reportedly be earning several times the annual salary he currently earns as Vice President, in his new role at Microsoft.
Former Microsoft chairman Bill Gates dismissed a suggestion that the U.S. Capitol be moved to Redmond, Washington as "silly," though did say that he would make executive decisions for the U.S. government from his existing office at Microsoft headquarters. Gates went on to say that the House and Senate would "of course" be abolished. "Microsoft isn't a democracy," he observed, "and look how well we're doing."
When asked if the rumored attendant acquisition of Canada was proceeding, Gates said, "We don't deny that discussions are taking place." Microsoft representatives closed the conference by stating that United States citizens will be able to expect lower taxes, increases in government services and discounts on all Microsoft products.
About Microsoft: Founded in 1975, Microsoft (NASDAQ "MSFT") is the worldwide leader in software for personal computers, and democratic government. The company offers a wide range of products and services for public, business and personal use, each designed with the mission of making it easier and more enjoyable for people to take advantage of the full power of personal computing and free society every day.
About the United States: Founded in 1789, the United States of America is the most successful nation in the history of the world, and has been a beacon of democracy and opportunity for over 200 years. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., the United States is a wholly owned subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation.
LOL! Hey llevrok! (That is a very old camping joke BTW.)
How y'all are?
44 posts and counting...
I’m fine llevrok! Don’t visit the lounge much anymore so I don’t get to see ya’ll.
Good to hear from you!
I have not been able to bring myelf to watch the screaming me-mes so far, but if Ann Coulter joins them, I’ll have to peek in!
