NEAR SALEM, Ore. - Three Oregon school teachers have been arrested in a sex sting at a state park west of Salem.
One of the suspects has been identified as Harry Nelson, a teacher at Parrish Middle School in Salem.
Another teacher was identified as Ronald Bridge, who is an elementary school teacher at Sunset Primary School in West Linn.
Also arrested was Professor John Backus from Western Oregon University. Backus is also known as "Nick" Backus on campus.
Five other men were also arrested in the sting, but none were teachers.
“This was in a state park, you be the judge. From what I understand there are many pre-aranged places for these pervert homo’s to congregate for sex with strangers.”

Professor placed on leave after arrest

John Backus, an assistant professor of speech and communication at Western Oregon University, was placed on administrative leave Thursday, school officials said.
Backus, 46, of Monmouth was arrested on public indecency charges Sunday as part of an undercover sting by the Polk County Sheriff's Office targeting illegal sexual activity at Holman Wayside State Park.

The park involved here is officially Holman Wayside, but is well-known locally as “Pervert Park”. While there is occasionally a female prostitute and male john caught there, most of the arrests are of homosexuals. Lots of exposing of selves in the bathroom, and there are places up in the hills above the parking lot in the trees that get frequented.
And I mean frequented. Us locals know better than to stop in at this park for any reason, day or night. The Polk County Sheriff does a sting operation a few times a year, the deputies routinely patrol it, but the perverts keep coming (no pun intended).
And it’s not like this place is out in BFE. It’s just a couple of feet of a major highway - basically a parking lot, a bathroom, and a couple acres of trees right by the 4-lane road.
Reminds me of the elementary school teacher, Selena, in “American Gothic”.

Yeah, you ever wonder why there are no lesbian park sex stings? People like to pretend it’s the depravity of gay men that leads to this sort of thing. They overlook the fact that straight men would also love to have free, anonymous sex in parks - if women were eager to do so as well.
Unfortunately for the guys, we’re not.
