I was there when it was buried and I'm going to be there when it's unearthed. It's big I tell you!

My dad had one of them. My advice: Leave the beast buried.

Yes, that car made a lot of enemies out of customers.

>>>Was it brand new?<<<
The Model year was 1957 and it was buried in 1957.
By my math, I’d say yes.

Yes, and they expect it to be pristine with "0" mileage.
If you go to the link, there's several neat stories and video about it.
Somebody in town is going to win it.

My dad had a ‘55 Dodge. Yes, let it rest in peace.

Well, for all I knew someone bought it when it first came out and drove it around town for a year.

“I was there when it was buried”
So was I - there was other stuff as well put in the “time capsule” - I’m going to miss the big opening tho.

Yes, that car made a lot of enemies out of customers. We had one, and other than trivial little things like the ROOF rusting out, it was a pretty good car...

Nevertheless the styling (tailfins) took America by storm in 1957. The younger set have no idea how exciting and anticipated was the arrival in the fall of the new cars from the big three. The car bodies changed every year, and they didn’t have computers to design with. Now they all look boringly alike and car bodies get changed every six years if that.

Ah the Yuppie penchant for denigration of ‘Grand American Auto’s’, for their love of Kraut, Lutefisk and Rice burning, import POS.
