I urge the development of a thicker skin.
Our culture is anti child enough (including its lack of discipline for them).
I will not be joining you on this train.
I don’t disagree with having thicker skin.
Just sayin’ it works BOTH ways.
Fair enough.
I see I ain’t the only guy waiting for Emma Watson to graduate from high school.
She growed up real purty. I saw her on Conan’s show within the past 2 weeks. Nice legs.
From Minute Rice himself.
So....she isn’t having kids because people have been rude to her, and she doesn’t like how other parents raise their kids?
What a cop-out.
Basing a decision like that on the poor behavior of others is a cop-out.
There is more to her childlessness than she is letting on, and she is just venting about people she doesn’t like.
“Also, she thinks she has it bad? The childless and 2.5 children families are just as obnoxious about big families. She should try having 7 children...people are full of asinine comments (once had a dental hygienists whisper in my ear “Ever heard of birth control?”...I was 5 months pregnant with baby number 6. Really, in today’s world does anyone actually believe that someone wouldn’t know about birth control?!)”
Amen!!
My 7th just turned 8 months.
The people just get ruder and ruder.
Thank God I don’t let their opinions and rudeness be any factor in what we decide to do with our lives.
“until you choose differently than them, that is”
Funny how these folks preach about tolerance until they see you at the grocery store with all your little ducklings.
“Aren’t you too old to be doing this?”
“Better you than me!”
“Are you done? When is your husband getting his surgery done?”
“Did you plan all of them?”
“Do you work? OUTSIDE of the home?”
“you’re one of those homeschool families aren’t you?”
“oh my God! you aren’t pregnant AGAIN are you?”
“how can you stand it?”
“do you miss not having a career of your own?”
etc, etc....
Does anyone else smell "urban legend" here? I don't think I'm believing this. Sounds made up.
Maybe there are a few moms out there pushing childbearing on people to validate their own choices...
“Maybe there are a few moms out there pushing childbearing on people to validate their own choices...”
I’ve seen both kinds of women be absolutely obnoxious.
We women can’t win.
If we don’t have kids, we get called old spinsters.
If we have kids, we get called broodsows.
If we work, we are driven selfish bitches.
If we stay home with the kids, we are brainless moochers.
So no matter what we do, we get the message we should feel guilty about it - and then women wind up turning on each other when they someone else making different choices.
