When we were talking about the Gilroy Garlic Festival I mentioned they had garlic ice cream there. I thought you were in on that thread.

33. Stout Ice Cream. Black beer ice cream is definitely one for the stout of heart, just like the Japanese drinkers whove made this brew a popular addition to most pub menus in recent years. Last year, a co-worker told me about seeing one of those vapid local morning shows, that did an article about a local beer festival. Of course, that piqued his interest, and he saw somebody making "beer shakes". I bought some Pyramid Apricot Weizen and Breyer's Vanilla Bean to try this at home, but never got around to mixing the two. I wonder if anybody out there in FReeperland has tried this themselves.

I remember the Gilroy festival well when I was stationed at DLI Monterey. I also remember waiting for the evening news to see how many stabbings/shootings happened during it.

Stilton Cheese Ice Cream. The Sun reports that Churchfield Farm is creating a Stilton Cheese Ice Cream which they say goes great with holiday mincemeat pies. Hmm. I'd hit it in a minute!

I've had Garlic Ice Cream. It wasn't bad, actually.
Prefer Soylent Green and Yerba Mate, two flavors I would get at an ice cream parlor I would frequent in Miami.

I remember in high school English reading Steinbeck’s “Cannery Row.”
In one part of the book, the main character “Doc” orders a beer milkshake. I think Steinbeck wrote that it was like eating shrimp ice cream.

Oh Jaz,
I should have said I can’t believe it is a worldly flavor. I just thought what went on in Gilroy, stayed in Gilroy.
Should I order you some?

Flavors that thankfully, will not show up on my truck at work any time soon... (OTOH, why they got rid of Strawberry Cheesecake, Smores, Tin Roof Sundae, or Butter Crunch, I’ll never figure out—WTH).....

I’ve had stout ice cream. It was good. Wouldn’t be anything wrong with tulip ice cream either.

Durian popsicles ARE nasty. Durians are suppose to smell awful and taste wonderful.
Durian popsicles taste like they smell.

Sure, try it. Clemenza says it isn’t bad but that he prefers Soylent Green. lol
Good one, Clamenza. :-)

Umm-- not yummy? But, the cherry blossom sounds yummy and cream cheese probably wouldn't be too different from cheesecake.

Some of these flavor creators should be punished by a licking. Yikes! From the sundae WP ...

Soylent Green was actually Soy "ice cream" with green tea.
I would always annoy the ice cream scooper with my queries as to whether or not Soylent Green was PEOPLE!!!

Okay, now I understand. It’s hard to believe they’d name it that.
