I would also love to have a zero turn like this, but I am afraid for my 1/2 acre, it would be overkill.

On another note.....she hasn’t had those long. They haven’t fully settled.

And she’s doing that on purpose .....my question is, WHY CAN’T MY NEIGHBORS BE LIKE THAT!?

My neighbor looks like Dale Gribble riding his mower. yeah, thats real fun to watch.

Drive by the Home Depot and pick up Juan and Paco.
They’ll help you out. ;-P

LOL they can’t do much but they sure can roll a buritto and cut some grass.

I can’t believe I saw outside my business park today some mexicans were cutting the grass with long sleeve shirts on. Geeez, its 95degrees outside.

1. water your lawn regularly your lawn needs at least 1” of water per week - make sure it gets MORE than that.

2. Water in the early morning if possible.

3. If the former owner used a “lawn service” for fertilizing, weed prevention, etc. hire them.

4, If not, ask the previous owner what he/she used - then do the same.

5. If # 5 is not possible, consult a professional

6. If #5 and #6 are not possible - just start the Scotts 4 step system and keep to a good schedule.

7. When mowing, set your mower deck to a level that is just slightly higher than the “perfect” height. Then cut the lawn when growth is 1 inch higher. (you may have to cut more than once a week, but it will always look great.

8. Ditto what other’s have said about mulching. make sure you have mulching blades on your tractor, the lawn stays more healthy that way.

9. In the fall, either rent an aerator or pay for the service, then apply your final winterizer.

10. enjoy

Do what I did, pull it all out and plant ivy and hedges..

Yes, those are sweet. We have 3/4 acres but, I built our gate for a self-propelled push mower.

BTW; the ECHO is my Wife’s toy......she’s yet to be able to destroy it.

My neighbor is a regular old Hank Hill who mows 1/32 off the top twice a week never against the grain.

Thanks Homey,

RE #1. I have inside dogs. They like to run in the fenced backyard. I want to keep it fairly dry so they will not track in mud. (NorthCarolina red clay)

RE #2. Impossible. I can hardly see to drive 90mph late for work.

RE #3. You mean like ChemLawn that comes out twice a year?

RE #6. I will look into that.

RE #7. I don’t mind cutting more.

RE #8. The bags ar a real pain in the rear. I think I will buy mulching blades and use the bags for autumn leaf vacuuming. Unless the leaves would make good mulch.

My nextdoor neighbor asks if he can have my grass clippings. He has a compost bed.

Thanks for the advise.

I am used to mowing patches of grass and weedeating a little and being done.

Well since you scalped it, spray the scalped spots with round up and before you know it it will feel like your old yard. LOL

Mine was tough too. I love being able to switch out the trimmer and the blower very quickly.

Thats what I feel like. I even have four neighbors that stand outside my fense and drink beer in the evenings and admire each others tool sets.
My grandpa was like that. We would measure the grass with a micrometer and traded lawnmowers every two years for the new model.

Normally I would prefer to do that, but I vowed to keep it neat so I'm at least gonna try.

My neighbor is pretty good about it. He figures it makes his yard look better. He nearly gid cartwheels when I took out the two willow trees near the property line and put in a new split rail fence backed by wire.

The Morning Show and Jeff Ward on KLBJ have been talking about the "Bikini Lawn Services" the last two days. I happened to find this on their web site.
