DNA Taken From Pitbull That Raped 2-Year-Old
Police say DNA has been taken from the pitbull that attacked a toddler by allegedly sodomizing it last weekend. It was a disturbing and violent attack. The two year old child is in Women and Children's Hospital. Neighbors heard a mother screaming that her child was being raped. Now people are calling to adopt the pitbull.

Lockport police say taking DNA from the dog is part of the investigation.
Lockport Police received a 911 call from a frantic City of Lockport mother last Sunday afternoon.
The mother told Lockport Police that she left her two year old unattended for a short time and after hearing the baby scream, she ran to see what was wrong.
When she got in the room, she told Lockport Police the dog, named "Bear" had sodomized the toddler. The mother screamed, scaring the dog out of the house, but the dog was still attached to the baby.
One neighbor told 2 On Your Side, she heard the mother screaming "the dog is raping my baby." Neighbors ran to help, but only one man was able to get the dog and child apart.
Anastacio Castillo says "I tried to get the dog away from the baby, the dog was already inside the baby." When the baby was finally free, he was visibly sick. Castillo says the boy was vomiting and bleeding.
The baby was rushed to Women and Children's Hospital where the toddler underwent reconstructive surgery.
The dog is being held at the Niagara County SPCA for evalution. An animal behavior specialist is scheduled to evaluate the pitbull on Friday.
Since the attack, over 20 people have called the SPCA asking to adopt the pitbull. Hear those calls by clicking Video.
The Niagara County District Attorney's office is assisting Lockport Police with the investigation.
Miranda Workman, behavior specialist at Purrfect Paws in Amherst says, "Most likely this is not a learned behavior. Dogs in tact, not spayed or neutered have a higher hormonal drive."
She urges parents to never, ever leave their children alone with a dog.
The use of the term "soiled" diaper makes on think that the diaper wasn't just wet. Is a mother likely to allow a "dirty" 2 year old to wander around the house?
Maybe the reporting is just imprecise.

Look, dogs make good pets because they confuse their owners family for their own. They protect their owners children and will not be happy unless they sleep and eat where their owners sleep and eat.
So for a male pit bull to mistake a baby for a female dog is not theat far away from any other behavior. Male dogs get few chances with a female so they are likely to mount anything they can, your leg, the cat, a child. As long as the dog did not hurt the baby in any other way and he was not hurt.

This story smells like a lie. Pit bulls are nasty dogs but they can’t sodomize a 2 year old. The two year old human wouldn’t sit still enough for that to happen. This is a case of dirt bag owners telling a lie to cover up something else.

As a long time dog trainer I have to start by saying that this poster knows nothing about this subject!!!!!
Pit's are not known to be docile, they lead the numbers in attacks and deaths on children in this country every year. If you take Pits and Rotts, first and second in annual attacks on people, they are responsible for more attacks on children than all other dog breeds put together.
Pits have been bred for 200 years to bite and fight. The only people that believe that their pits are harmless are those whose dogs haven't attacked anyone “YET”. The next thing you will hear is when they make the claim again trying to defend a dog that just mutilated or killed another child and then add that "we just didn't know." With no history of where the dog has been all it's life to say that it was trained by someone in that house is the statement of a moron. Even if the dog was trained in this perverted behavior you have no idea who trained it or where it was trained.
My stock dogs are bred to herd livestock, they start working while still very young puppies. Pits are bred to bite and fight, this is an instinct that is bred into them and can not be removed by anyone. Pitt bull owners seem quite adept at just pretending it isn't there.

It’s obvious you don’t know anything about dogs. Most animals, cattle included, will mount to display domination. Animal behaviorists generally accept that the trait is non-sexual. Anyone who has a dog that “humps legs” is a witless fool, because it is easily trained out of them. I have trained guard dogs and sporting dogs of many breeds since I was 14 years old. I repeat, the rape of a child by a dog is aberrant behavior for a dog, any breed! This is the first time I have ever heard of it happening.

When dogs mate; what happens is they tie which could last up to 30 to 45 mins or less. You usually can not untie them because they are locked; but I don’t understand this because the baby is human. I am not sure if I understand this story at all. I would be wondering about the Mother. Sorry.... I just don’t know. I suppose this could happen.
