I found out today that a truly wonderful Sister who is a very dear friend (and Godsend) of mine has had a recurrence of cancer after 18 months of remission. I, of course, am more worried than she is. She is ready to accept whatever the Lord decides. STILL, she teaches me, even though it’s been 33 years since I sat in her classroom.

This lady is the epitome of what a nun should be. She saved me from myself when I was too young and stupid to see the forest for the trees. She became a “mom” to me when I didn’t have one, and desperately needed one.

The thought of losing her is very hard. I’m selfish. She could kick it again, but this kind of cancer never really goes away. It goes into remission, but when it pops up again, it’s more aggressive than the time before.

PLEASE pray for this dear lady. Her name is Sister Pat.

I will keep sister Pat in my prayers every day..You see I have had that awful disease and with the help of God and the wonderful doctors he sent to me mine is in remission now for four years...I never once feared death because I know God will be waiting for me on the other side..Along with my family that has gone on to heaven..Just know trussel he is still in control and he listens to our prayers

Thank you, Vet. I, too, believe in miracles. Her oncologist is at one of the top cancer centers in the country. I can’t remember the name of it, but it’s in St. Louis.

Her doctor has been very good to her, but also realistic, which of course is what she wants. He told her the cancer would come back. It always does. He just couldn’t tell her WHEN. It’s bone marrow cancer.

She is so grateful for the 18 months of remission. She says it was a time of such grace, even SHE was awed. She is surrounded with people who love her.

She’s not giving up. She’ll do whatever her docs tell her to do and take any treatment they decide on.

They did a stem cell transplant the first time and she still has stem cells left over for another one, but the process is pretty awful. They basically kill every antibody in your body, then introduce the stem cells back into your body. More proof that we don’t have to kill babies to get them. Adult stem cells ARE SUCCESSFUL.

Thank you all for your prayers. It’s the most powerful medicine known to man.
