I just witnessed a car chase from the FOX helicopter feed around where I live. It was fast around Roscoe Blvd., Owensmouth Ave, De Soto Ave, etc. and ended on Topanga Blvd. where Chatsworth Park is near the hills. 12 police cars came by to stop it. Those were airborne videos. Note that this is near very dark. There is a ground video of men and women coming to the noise wondering WTF? I only take a lady to a beach in Ventura that makes hearts quiet.
Unless you have a seriously souped up orange dodge charger and a bunch of ponds to jump over, running from the cops is never a good idea.
Just a hint about where this is taking place might make it newsworthy. We don’t all live near Roscoe Blvd, Owensmoutn Ave, and De Soto Ave. I know it’s in California, near Ventura Beach, but WHo What Where When Why and How are still pretty good rules of journalism even if it is just an FR post.
I never understood the fascination that people in California have with car chases. Did that start with OJ?
I’m going to go get a quick shower, keep me posted.
Chatsworth Park and a mile away from Chatsworth reservoir. Right off Topanga Canyon Blvd. Right near the 118 FWY.
Nah—a true SoCal would quote you location from the latest version of his LA/Orange County THOMAS GUIDE...BBG
*BBG=Back Before Garmin
Is it any coincidence that the center console in my Ford was EXACTLY the right size to have all the Thomas Guides for all of California from Mexican Border to San Luis Obispo and out to Death Valley?
So far it seems hugh.
And series.
DO A BARREL ROLL!
Think crime, chase, blood, carnage etc.....It's human nature to be a spectator, and makes big news...Whether you understand it or not, it's big news and it will continue to be covered by news agencies, and naturally, people will continue to be spectators.
Don't you think surrounding an idiot with 12 cars sends a message?
Forget that. You need to know the streets without it. Wherever you are.

You're here. There are only 3 reasons using deadly use of force is justifiable. You list them.
That’s not very close to where I will take a sweatheart.
Northridge?
What has that to do with what I stated?
It was a fast white car from above. That park was a quiet place to have romance. It seems they were all told to leave. You can't just park cars and trucks up Topanga Canyon on the right side bumper-to-bumper near the 118 FWY and not get kicked out of there anymore.
It’s so terrible these constant car chases. What happened to the technology that allows the police to de-magnatize a car ahead of them and stop it? Even with the most recent deaths of four people killed in the two helicopter accident while they raced through the air “to get the exclusive videos”.

What’s happening that people risk their lives to get news coverage. it was very sad crash and it was only a matter of time since we have all seen these chases on the news. Keep the helicopters farther away and use some common sence.
Where are you? City and state Bob, city and state.
I don’t think it’s fascination.
It’s just that the LAPD has the nation’s largest fleet of helicopters for law enforcement... and there are a lot of media helicopters as well.
I live in the Hollywood Hills and at any one time I can look out the window and see copters either flying around or in an actuve chase for a suspect on the ground.
Sounds hugh.
;-) Bingo. Only in California do people just assume you know.
I lived near there, Canoga Park, when I first moved to LA. I got the hell out FAST and moved to the westside.
did Borat type this?
Anything south of the Grapevine is LA.
What you and others fail to understand is that many times the news video is used in court against the criminals involved in these pursuits, and they have actually assisted law enforcement many times. When 5 or 6 exit a vehicle, running in 5 different directions, more eyes in the sky are very helpful. News helicopters have gone from covering the news to being part of the news, and have been involved in all types of rescues and all sorts of positive incidents.
Trying to ban or stop news helicopters from covering news just isn't going to happen. If there is any blame here in regards to pursuits, it's the guy behind the wheel.
