Do not be fooled by Jenna Bush.
She has wrapped herself in the golden glow of celebrity. But she is something else entirely.
For almost seven years, the blond Bush twin has reveled in the trappings associated with Hollywood starlets -- from wearing made-to-order designer clothes to smiling brightly from the glossy pages of a Vogue photo spread. She has walked red carpets and swanned past velvet ropes. Like so many celebrities, she has taken on a cause -- education -- and is using her fame to stir interest and attract media attention to an upcoming book tour. She has indulged in the kind of naughty behavior that paints her as human but not necessarily in need of an intervention. As she said onstage at the 2004 Republican convention, in a scripted introduction of her mother that had all the awkward, self-deprecating humor of an Oscar segue: She and her twin, Barbara, had misbehaved when they were "young and irresponsible." Who couldn't relate to that?
Jenna even had a moment of public exasperation with the media -- her own version of a modest paparazzi meltdown. She stuck her tongue out at the press corps from behind the gray windows of the presidential limousine while campaigning with her father.

Some presidential children seemed perfectly suited to the job of symbol. The image of Chelsea Clinton walking hand in hand with her parents toward a waiting helicopter, symbolically bridging the divide caused by the Monica Lewinsky scandal, is a part of history. But from the beginning, Jenna struggled with the demands of presidential symbolism. She wore a cherry-red camisole onstage when her father celebrated his reelection in 2004, prompting questions about whether first daughters should wear lingerie-like clothing on such public occasions.

B.D.S. carries on into the next generation. What a silly aritcle.
Isn’t this the same bimbo who wrote the snarky piece abot Cheney in the parka?
She needs to get a life.
That ain't a "symbol" at all . . . it's a propaganda tool.
I wonder if even 10% of the people in government these days -- including their families -- would fit any outside-the-Beltway definition of "normal."
Why, oh why, can’t she more like the beautiful, talented, and oh so well behaved Chelsea Clinton? Not only was Chelsea the rock that held the first family together, but also, in our nation’s darkest hour, there she was in the thick of things at the WTC.
What absolute drivel.....(sigh)
This woman was “The Player of the Week” on Fox News Sunday a few weeks ago.....and yeah, she was the one sniping at Cheney.
I celebrate Jenna’s spirit. What do they want - some kind of cardboard kid who robotically does everything expected?
What a steaming pile this article is..
She has indulged in the kind of naughty behavior that paints her as human but not necessarily in need of an intervention.
Make sure it's vague and unnamed. Then every reader can make up his own horror story in his mind.
She’s green with envy and probably green with mold!
hat is why the paper is dying
Where’s the GAG alert? WP = vomit
“Isnt this the same bimbo who wrote the snarky piece about Cheney in the parka?”
And about Hillary’s cleavage.
The only good thing about a Robin Givhan WaPo article are the abusive letters-to-the-editor the next day bashing the author for having no life.
-she wrote the hit piece on Katherine Harris’s lipstick......if I remember correctly.
“it’s a propaganda tool”
“Crapaganda” is a more fitting word....;-D
Baffling people like her get paid for dribble like this.
Jealousy, anyone? Not to get snarky, but the author has an odd hairline.. Not that there's anyuthing wrong with that, of course.
I don't know why anybody would want to be President. The libs HATE her because she's "rich, drunk, silly, going to get a big wedding, has no talent, living off her name, didn't enlist and isn't patrolling Baghdad...etc"
It must suck to hate somebody that much....I guess I hated Clinton and what he did, so I can understand. Wow, it seems silly to look at the comments, however. I hope I never sounded like that.
weird...
Does anybody have the picture of the modest, always well-behaved Chelsea setting an example of proper public behavior? She’s at some sports event and her boyfried is nuzzling her neck. Chelsea’s nipples are raised at attention and saluting the world under her thin t-shirt. What a paragon of good behavior for a president’s daughter.
Did the author have any complaints about John Kerry's daughter showing up somewhere (Cannes film festival?) in the see-through dress?
“the blond Bush twin
Jealousy, anyone?”
Don’t get me started. People will call me names but I believe a great deal of racial friction stems from just that.
RULES...PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
Drivel is the word you are looking for, I think.
/language police
:^)
Actually I thought you meant the photo of a bleep faced Chelsea Clinton stumbling out of a bar.
One of the tabloids, either here or in London, ran of photos of Chelsea Clinton falling down drunk in a London club and sprawling with her crotch exposed in the backseat of a cab her boyfriend managed to pour her into.
Never mind, that doesn't fit the agenda of leftists attempting to paint a negative about Jenna Bush or anyone in the Bush Administration.
Chelsea, on the other hand, is a good girl. She did photo ops with Mommy and Daddy even while knowing Daddy lied, cheated and made of fool of Mommy and her. And we know Chelsea didn't stick her tongue out at the press. She was only rude to the Military Personnel in the White House.

The MSM is determined to crown the ugly witch, HClinton as POTUS.
Drivel is the written equivalent of raw sewage, which this article resembles. Another useful word for written junk is “twaddle”, which I believe was invented by Charlotte Mason.
This has to be one of the most unnecessary statements ever.
The only point is to reinforce the premise that Jenna is a “bad girl”, when in fact, she is quite a lovely girl.
This entire article is total cr@p.
Let's find out; TERM LIMIT THE BA$+ARD$!
Ick. I need to pour alcohol in my eyes now.
That’s where they add the sawdust to this bimbo reporter’s brain. She is a feckless weirdo.
Where’s the barf alert?
That is a stunning photo! Excellent post.
Wow, that picture explains why this woman is so vicious towards ANY WOMAN thats attractive.
Jealousy, it’s that simple.
This woman was The Player of the Week on Fox News Sunday a few weeks ago.....and yeah, she was the one sniping at Cheney.
I usually watch Fox News Sunday, up til the ‘Power Player of the Week’ which I’ve always found to be absurd, boring, and vapid.
Personally I think all three should be left alone. Yes Chelsea, Jenna and Barabra. They were not voted President and should be allowed to live they way they want too.
The image of Chelsea Clinton walking hand in hand with her parents toward a waiting helicopter, symbolically bridging the divide CAUSED BY THE MONICA LEWINSKY SCANDAL is a part of history.
Should read “caused by the Bill Clinton/Monica Lewinsky love scandal!!!! Her father chose to participate in it not just monica alone.
So what Robin????? Jealous????
That is so biased it is not even funny!
A catty attack. Having just come from a thread defending Chelsea Clinton, I’ll repeat it here. Jenna and Barbara Bush did not choose their parents. They should not be attacked like this until and unless they step into the political arena themselves.
Some presidential children seemed perfectly suited to the job of symbol. The image of Chelsea Clinton walking hand in hand with her parents toward a waiting helicopter, symbolically bridging the divide caused by the Monica Lewinsky scandal, is a part of history.
I just threw up in my mouth a little.
Echoes of Jennings' 9-11 taunt "Some presidents do this sort of thing well, while others (rolls eyes) do not".
