A karate club team have been crowned the world's first gravy wrestling champions.

The competition took place in the town of Darwen in Lancashire as part of Lancashire Food and Culture week.

Team members won points for pinning the opposition down and the competition was eventually won by four-man Shukokai Karate Club team.

Winning team leader Ian Marsden said: "It took great skill just to keep your feet. The gravy soon got cold and started to solidify.

"I think we got the better of the opposition because they were reduced to throwing lumpy gravy at us."

Oh my,

I thought any sort of wrestling in a fluid was supposed to be with hot women.

The guy in the picture above was crushing disappointment.
