My family won't forget the events of September 11, 2001.
As I lay in bed (in California), listening to the radio and praying .... my husband Ron (we weren't married yet) was receiving a telephone call at home ordering him to report to his base. As an F-16 pilot tasked at the time to west coast defense, he spent hours in the air that day and evening (and in the following days) -- patrolling the skies over San Francisco and praying that he wouldn't be ordered to shoot down a civilian airliner in order to save lives. While the rest of us were at home, watching in horror .... he was flying overhead, providing physical protection for our nation even as he prayed for spiritual protection for us.
My husband has proudly put on a military uniform since he was 17 years old ... and he just turned 41. This is his calling, his career, a part of who he is. He just returned from his third deployment flying the skies over Iraq. Each day as I prayerfully send him off to work, and each day as he prayerfully puts on his uniform, we remember 9/11.
And we will never forget.

Remind yourself of those horrible hours, when we saw thousands of our citizens die in fireballs of smoke caused by monsters who hijacked commercial airliners and flew them into the WTC. 19 muslim men were the perpetrators. Islam, their religion, taught them a concept called Jihad. 3,000 innocent people were slaughtered in order for these monsters to gain entrance into heaven, or so they thought. We ignored the signs that this horrific event would occur. They had tried to level the buildings, some years before, with car bombs. They bombed 2 embassies, a marine barracks, a ship. Hundreds of innocent people were murdered in these attacks. It is now said that millions of muslims around the globe believe in this same concept of Jihad. You see it on the news every night and all of a sudden it seems to be everywhere.
Sept. 10th, 2001, we had forgotten.
Then the fateful morning of Sept. 11, 2001. Tears flowed and everyone grieved. How could this happen? We were all in shock. The slogan became "Never Forget". We all got very patriotic and we even flew little flags on our cars. People went to church, they prayed, they wept, they wondered. Why? Years later it seems a distant memory and we continued as before.
We forgot.
Six years later, what do you see? Sunday, Sept. 9th, the "Muslim Day Parade" was held in downtown Manhattan. The honorary marshal was a NYC Councilman. Women in burqas were passing out pamphlets on Islam and they were flying their black flags of Jihad, parading around Ground Zero. Do you know what is says in aramic on those flags?
"There is no god but allah, and mohammed is the messenger of allah".
It is the war flag for the muslim. So what is it doing in the streets of Manhattan today? Just before the 6th anniversary of 911?
We forgot.
And if you take a pilgrimage to Ground Zero, what do you see? A group of people who call themselves "Truthers". They spend their days occupying Ground Zero, perpetrating lies, conjuring conspiracy theories and insulting the families of the victims... at the very place that should be a memorial.
We forgot.
Then there's the group that is allowed to stomp on the American flag in the streets of Manhattan and says that Islam will take over America. We allow it because it is 'free speech'.
We forgot.
Then there's the newest school in NYC called " Khalil Gibran International Academy" in Brooklyn. It is a public school and paid for with taxpayer funds. The textbooks are in arabic and they will be teaching an Islamic curriculum to grade school children. It has been labeled by many as a 'madrassa' or indoctrination center for radical islam. Imam Talib Abdul-Rashid, previously associated with the Muslim Brotherhood, is on the advisory board. The muslim brotherhood slogan goes something like this...
Allah is our goal
The Prophet Muhammad ibn ‘Abdullah is our leader
The Qu’ran is our constitution
Jihad is our way
And death in the way of Allah is our promised end.
We forgot.
As hard as it is, take a minute or two and relive those painful images and REMEMBER... DON'T EVER FORGET. Many of us have. But our enemies haven't.
