ANNAPOLIS, Md — Jenna Bush stepped to the podium, looking poised in a floral print dress with gentle earth tones. But she couldn't quite hide the butterflies as she stood before an eager bookstore crowd to introduce her book, "Ana's Story: A Journey of Hope."
This is my first day, so I'm a little nervous," the 25-year-old first daughter said, laughing softly.
Her face lit up, though, as soon as she started talking about the subject of her nonfiction narrative, a teenage mother from Latin America who was born with HIV.
"Ana changed my life. She's only 17 years old, but she's lived the life of somebody so much older," Bush said. "Despite her hardships, Ana is so much like the teenagers here in the United States. She reminds me of myself at that age."

memo to ap: leaver her alone.
I don’t really understand what the thrust of the book is, so I don’t feel I can have an informed opinion of it. Anyone have a link to a summary of what the book is about?
Unfortunately, she’s out promoting her book. How do they “leave her alone” under those circumstances?
by refraining from slander.
Ana's life is a collection of bits and pieces of her past. Infected with HIV at birth, she's unaware of many details of her early childhood and barely remembers her mother. Living with her strict grandmother, she learns how to keep secrets secrets about her infection and about the abuse she endures at home. But after Ana falls in love and becomes pregnant at seventeen, she begins a journey of hope a journey of protecting herself and others. She is living with HIV, not dying from it.
Jenna Bush tells of Ana's struggle to break free from the cycle of abuse, silence, and illness with passion and eloquence. But this is not just Ana's story. It is also the story of many children around the world who are marginalized, neglected, and mistreated.
Jenna wrote the book mainly with teenagers in mind, but many adults will enjoy it also
Jenna Bush was GREAT last night on Larry King Live...when asked about the wedding at the WH, she replied that her dad said we would not have to get a tent! Hilarious..so normal. Cannot help but feel if this was Chelsea or the Gore girls it would be featured EVERYWHERE!
Jenna is on BookTV now.
