Zocor has my bad cholesterol down from 187 to 95. Ill stick with it, thanks. And if you get it down to zero, you'll die. Think about it. I take the stuff too, but I'm not at all convinced that there is any correlation between cholesterol levels and incidence of heart attack. Google cholesterol+heart+attack+correlation and you will see that there is considerable debate about this, and remember that only one side of the debate has a financial interest. This doesn't make them wrong. I'm just observing.

Yeah, but then you've got dead, squished germs all over the place. Ewww! Not to mention that it's hard on the furniture and counter tops. :)

Alrighty then,I take it you have a degree in medicine? ;^)lol... Wonderful argument. It's the same one liberals try use to try to silence those pro-military citizens that have never served in the military. You aren't a liberal are you? Tell me. What are you more afraid of? The possibility that I may be right or the possibility that you will contract MRSA? And honestly... Would you care if I had a degree in medicine or not? Having you already made up your mind?
I think more people need to understand that those of you with the Al Gore "consensus" mindset are deceived. The rest of us are tired of all you chicken littles running around looking for some modern day great plague to wipe out mankind. Herpes? AIDS? The Bird Flu? Now MRSA? Etc...
Please. Give it a rest. I'm not buying it and if some of you are offended because I am capable of putting 2 and 2 together and getting 4 then too bad. Maybe you should repent and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and receive the perfect health of God that He died to give you instead of trying to shame those of us who have into converting to your religion of fear.

Yeah, but I recently read a study that said cholesterol doesn’t cause heart disease after all.
Oooops.

I take the stuff too, but I'm not at all convinced that there is any correlation between cholesterol levels and incidence of heart attack You're absolutely right. Cholesterol is only an indicator of other, as of yet undiscovered, factors involved with heart disease. Lowering cholesterol in an effort to reduce heart disease is like sucking the mercury out of a thermometer to make the temperature go down.
Lower cholesterol, by itself, does not reduce the risk of heart attack.

MRSA is actually a bigger problem in countries, especially England with socialized medicine.
A year ago I was hospitalized for a week with a staph infection, and let me tell you, it is a scary thing.

This is just my healthy, humble opinion. Your opinion may be humble but it sure isn't healthy. A fellow Freeper, Yorkie, has been diagnosed with MRSA, and needs our prayers.

I don’t see why you are so upset at Ron Paul’s post. Sure he screams alot and looks a little wild-eyed at times, but this is his healthcare plan and I admire him for posting it here ;-}

As one who nearly died of a staff infection from back surgery I can say with confidence that you are sadly mistaken. After discharge the wound became red around the edges 12 days out of hospital. I was asked to report immediately to the Orthopedics office where the wound was “dug out” with a scalpel and NO antiseptic. I got to spend 8 additional days in the hospital getting twice daily an I.V. with an antibiotic so caustic that each time it was administered it would destroy the vein. It felt like battery acid eating away at me for twenty minutes twice a day. It did however save my life and for that I only hate Doctors a little.

"should repent and receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and receive the perfect health of God "
Well, I'm one of those people that don't have health insurance because I can't afford it. I joke to my Christian friends that Jesus is my health insurance. (but I'm only half joking) :) If I could afford it, I'd have Ted Kennedy's health insurance.
To: EndWelfareToday
Not to put too fine a point on this, but you really don't know what you are talking about. I work in medicine, and this is pretty serious.
That out of the way...
