Are the Patriots really this good?
The National Football League

Posted on 10/28/2007 3:53:21 PM PDT by KayEyeDoubleDee

They're beating a 4-2 Redskins team by a score of 45-0, with plenty of time left in the 4th quarter?

In game 8, of a 16 game season, Brady now has 31 touchdown passes for the season? Which puts him on pace to throw more than 60 touchdown passes in a single season?

Can the Colts beat this team?

If they stay healthy, are the 2007 Patriots the best team in the history of the NFL?

Discuss.

The answer is yes and no. As I stated before, the disparity in the talent this year is so great that New England is one level ahead of everybody else.

Washington has nothing to worry. Once the season is over, which will probably be in early January, they will cut Brunel. At some point in time, after McNabb is waived from the Eagles, Dan Snyder will over pay for McNabb, and the cycle will repeat itself.

I would not have drafted a QB from a run-dominated SEC team like Auburn. Campbell is a good QB, but he has yet to develop his instincts as a QB in the NFL.

Have you seen Bridget Moynahan? Tom Brady and Jeff Garcia are living the fantasy.

"It will be fun to watch!"

Yeah, for some lucky folks. Others will be forced to endure regional games. Ours will be Oakland vs Houston. So much for fun!

They are that good, which makes you wonder why they needed to cheat.....unless it was SOP from prior years, and old habits are hard to break.

I think NE has a better chance going undefeated.

If, and that is a very BIG if, they can get by Indy.

Now, as for a team leaving their starters in with a 45 point lead in the 4th qtr... Bellachickadee will have that come back to haunt him. You just do not do that in the NFL. That is done in college ball to impress the poll voters only. There are no polls in the NFL, there is only the poll of public opinion and it was not a good thing to witness today.

Can you tell I do not like the Patriots coach. Will yes I don't.

P.S. if in some way NE gets by Indy, my prediction is that the Bills beat them in Buffalo. Mark my words.

It’s funny. When I complained at New England running the score up against Dallas, I was accused of whining

I gotta wonder if Belicheat is going to get a bad case of Steve Spurrier karma at the rate he’s going. Going for it on fourth down at the 6 when you’re up 38-0? Oookaaayy. You gotta admit, that’s a very Spurrier-esque thing to do.

As a Skins fan, I’m glad I didn’t see the game. I’m not surprised the Pats won, but I did think the Skins could keep it close enough to cover (the line was 16 1/2 last I heard, which is absolutely insane, even at home, against a 4-2 team with a solid defense). The Pats are just in a completely different gear from everybody else right now. They remind me of the 1985 Bears—one side of the ball absolutely dominant, the other very good.

Oh yes. They are evil, wretched human beings. /s

As if it really matters in the question of who wins the game next week, or if you would really care about that if it were your team.

You need to get a life, because you probably don’t realize how stupid and sanctimonious your post sounds.

I'm a lot more concerned about somebody going through life with the name of bastard than I am about who wins a football game.

You can set up your own priorities.

Really...which is why you sift through professional football threads in the early hours of the morning to impart your sanctimonious opinions on unrelated issues?

Priorities indeed.

Can the Colts beat this team?

I think they can. The Colts may not be as flashy, but I think they have a better defense than New England. I just hope the game lives up to the hype.
