Posted on 10/30/2007 4:52:37 PM PDT by Thebaddog
State Police are searching for the wife of a southwest suburban Bolingbrook police sergeant. "Because he's one of our officers, we thought it would be better to have an independent agency investigating," Bolingbrook Mayor Roger Claar said of the state's involvement in the disappearance of Stacey Peterson. It was not clear how long Peterson, the 23-year-old wife of Bolingbrook police Sgt. Drew Peterson, has been missing.
She was supposed to help a friend do some painting, but never showed up.
Drew Peterson's previous wife, 40-year-old Kathleen Savio, was found dead in the dry bathtub of her Pheasant Chase home in March 2004. The investigation revealed Savio drowned. Her fingertips showed pruning from being submerged in water and her hair was wet when she was found. A coroner's jury ruled the death accidental. State Police investigated that case as well. No charges were filed. According to one official, Savio was Drew Peterson's third wife, and Stacey Peterson is his fourth. More than 20 years ago, Drew Peterson was fired from the Bolingbrook Police Department after the village board of police and fire commissioners found him guilty of disobedience, conducting a self-assigned investigation, failure to report a bribe immediately and official misconduct. He had been indicted two months earlier on charges of official misconduct and failure to report a bribe. Peterson was working under the auspices of the Metropolitan Area Narcotics Squad at the time. Indictments alleged he solicited drugs in exchange for information about his agency. The charges later were dropped. Drew Peterson won reinstatement with the department in March 1986. Judge Edwin Grabiec ruled police and fire commissioners lacked sufficient evidence to find Peterson guilty of the charges. Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to call ISP Joliet District at 815-726-6377.

Do I get a prize for saying hubby is guilty? I’m sure someone will be along soon to argue with me...
Two wives dead or missing within a couple of years? At the least it should raise red flags
Gee, why would you think that? /s :)
Stacy Peterson was last seen Sunday morning in the southwest suburb, wearing a red jogging suit, police said. She is the fourth wife of Sgt. Drew Peterson, a 29-year veteran of the Bolingbrook Police Department.
Stacy Peterson, 23
Peterson, 53, is a 29-year veteran of the department
Peterson called her husband about 9 p.m. Sunday, Teppel said, but he did not know the nature of the phone call.
At 4 a.m. Monday, her family went to the Illinois State Police to report that she was missing.
“Sgt. Peterson is cooperating fully with the state police,” said Teppel, who added that Peterson was taking some personal time to be with family and the couple’s children. “Obviously, he’s distraught over [her disappearance].”
Contacted at his home this afternoon, Peterson declined to comment.
“I’m waiting for my attorney to advise me,” Peterson said. “If he feels I should make a statement then I will. If he advises against it, then I won’t.”
Peterson is a student at Joliet Junior College, where she is majoring in pre-nursing, said a campus spokesman.
Two wives dead or missing within a couple of years? At the least it should raise red flags
Another red flag.
His latest wife is/was 23 years old.
His former wife was 40 years old.
I am guessing he is 40-50 years old.
This is his fourth wife.
So..... the next wife might be......15 ??????
He is 53
Why would you assume he is guilty? He has been married 4 times not that being married 4 times makes one a killer, one of the wives found dead from drowning in a dry bathtub, kicked off the force for numerous reasons. Gee, he sounds like a great guy. (sarc. of course)
My question is why would a women choose to be wife #4 with this guys laundry list?
I must have "misplaced" 7 or 8 of them myself. Oh, every once in a while one of them turns up hanging in the basement.....
Dum da dum dum. Dum da dum dum dummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
What is truly sad about this is there are so many of these thugs on police department payrolls around this country.
I’m sure this guy knows that he either has to fully cooperate with investigators every minute of every day or he has to get a damn good lawyer.
The next wife just might be about 25 and doing 25 to life for two counts of Murder 1.
“Do I get a prize for saying hubby is guilty? Im sure someone will be along soon to argue with me...”
No argument for me.
It’s the husband for sure.
Hopefully they’ll reopen the other case too.
Send him away for life.
That is the million dollar question. I'll never understand it.
On the surface it sounds like Stacey Peterson may have met the same ending as Lacey Peterson. What is it with these Peterson men? I hope Stacey wasn’t pregnant.
Greta can now give an audible sigh of relief! She has been running short of material.
Makes you wonder if the guy’s middle name is Wayne. :o)
Not being discussed by *media* is the missing mother of the now missing 4th wife.
Apparently, Stacy’s mother disappeared 8 years ago - when Stacy was 15. Did Peterson know or have a relationship with the mother? Did he investigate her *disappearance* and become involved with Stacy during that time period? Or, was the mother trying to stop the relationship?
Interesting scenarios that should raise red flags IMHO
Fox reporting (Greta, Jamie & Mark Fuhrman - very disorganized - Jamie on with Shep - sees Greta & Mark - they try to combine efforts -)
State police searching home and removing two vehicles from Sgt. Drew Peterson’s home. Neighbor picking up children to take care of them. Peterson has been taken in Police vehicle for questioning (?). Search dogs also on scene.
Contradicting statements by Peterson:
Invited Greta and Jamie in the house previously - separate interviews given - but not on camera. I hope they taped him!!
Wife called him from the airport - said she was leaving with a *new love* and he could pick up the car from the airport.
Both cars at the home.
He took the kids to the airport to visit his *plane* that he keeps at the airport.
He doesn’t think she drove to the airport - someone picked her up from the house.
This guy has so many weird stories - he is gonna crack under pressure.
this will probably turn out like the Jesse case in Ohio....a policeman thinking he can get away with murder....and guess what?.....he just might in this case....
He may have previously, too.
He may have been *too clever* - When Greta and Jamie (FoxNews) were comparing his separate interview statements - there were huge contradictions.
He may believe he is smarter than the other city or county cops he worked with - if he fooled them with the first wife’s suspicious death. The State is taking this one... and they have FORENSIC labs.
I’ll keep my optimism for now;)
Just a *ping* on the new developments - on FoxNews.
Search warrant - 2 cars impounded - Sgt.Pepper taken for questioning.
Missing Wife’s Car Found At Suburban Airport
BOLINGBROOK ,Ill. (WBBM) — Clow Airport in Bolingbrook is one focus of the investigation into the disappearance of Stacy Peterson.
WBBM’s Steve Miller reports.
Bolingbrook police say Sergeant Drew Peterson told them he found his wife’s car at the airport Sunday night.
A camera is aimed at the parking lot of the airport, and investigators have been trying to figure out if they can get images that will yield some clues.
The problem, says Clow Airport Manager Joe DePaulo, is the the camera aimed at the parking lot is only a Web cam. Meaning, it does not record anything.
DePaulo says investigators have been to the airport at least twice to try to get images from the Web cam.
As far as flights out, DePaulo says the Bolingbrook airport has no tower and keeps no records of most planes that go in and out.
Family: Woman feared for life
Missing Bolingbrook wife wanted divorce, her aunt says
Two days before she disappeared, the wife of a Bolingbrook police sergeant told her husband she wanted a divorce, the missing woman’s aunt said Thursday.
A day later, on Saturday, Stacy Peterson told her sister she feared for her life, said Suzan Robison, Stacy’s paternal aunt.
Sgt. Drew Peterson, Stacy’s husband, “was a very jealous, very controlling person,” Robison said. “He followed her. He tracked her with GPS on her cell phone, called her constantly.”
Family member Kerry Simmons said Stacy kept in the home a journal that contained notes about fights she had with her husband. “She documented everything,” Simmons said.
Charles Pelkie, Glasgow’s spokesman, said the warrants also gave police the authority to search a 2005 GMC sport-utility vehicle and a 2002 Pontiac coupe at Peterson’s home.
Peterson later told the Tribune the police took the computer and his guns.
at least five police divers entered a pond at Bolingbrook’s Clow International Airport, where a manager said police earlier this week tried unsuccessfully to review previous images from a Web cam. Federal Aviation Administration records indicate Drew Peterson is licensed to fly a plane, but manager Joe DePaulo said there were no records that Peterson had used the airport.
the couple were in marriage counseling, and she asked Stacy about it during a phone call last week.
“She said she didn’t want to talk on the phone because she was afraid he was listening and watching everything she was doing,” Simmons said. “She was stressed. She wanted out of her marriage.”
‘investigators have been to the airport at least twice to try to get images’
WTH - Keystone cops?
Peterson, a 29-year police veteran and Bolingbrook police sergeant, said his wife has suffered from what he called ‘’mood issues’’ since her sister’s death from colon cancer last year.
‘’Ever since then, Stacy has been different,’’ Peterson said Wednesday. ‘’... She’s been under the care of a psychiatrist’’ and is taking antidepressant medication.
Peterson said he thought the couple had a good marriage, ‘’but maybe she didn’t,’’ he said.
Stacy Peterson’s family agreed she was depressed, but said it was because she believed her husband watched everything she did. They said she had asked for a divorce.
‘’She just wanted people to know she was unhappy, and she didn’t like how she was being treated,’’ said her aunt, Candace Aikin, 48, of El Monte, Calif. ‘’In case she disappeared — if something bad happened to her.’’
Aikin said she talked to her niece every week and knows she did not have a boyfriend.
‘’She had a husband who was following her 24/7,’’ she said.
Family members also said they didn’t think Stacy Peterson would leave without her kids — Lacy, 2, and Anthony, 4.
‘’I know damn well she wouldn’t go without them kids,’’ said her uncle, Gary Cales, 68, of Hemet, Calif.
His 23-year-old wife has been seeing a psychiatrist, taking Effexor, a prescription anti-depressant medication and struggling with “mood issues” since the cancer death last year of her sister, Peterson said during a brief interview in the couple’s Bolingbrook home.
“Ever since then, Stacy has been different,” the 53-year-old Peterson said. “There’s been mood issues. She’s been under the care of a psychiatrist.”
That carried over into their last conversation, he said. She left their home Sunday morning to help a relative paint, then called him at their home at about 9 p.m. Sunday.
“She seemed snotty,” Peterson said, describing the call as “unusual” though he wouldn’t disclose details of what was said.
That call at 9 p.m. Sunday was his last communication with his wife — and even then he said he didn’t know where she was calling from.
“I don’t know where she was when she called,” he said.
Peterson, a 29-year veteran of the Bolingbrook Police Department, said he doesn’t know why his wife of four years would leave him and their two children, ages 2 and 4, behind. She also adopted his children from a previous marriage, he said.
“I find that very unusual,” he said of her absence. “She’s a very good mom. For the last year or so, she’s been very short-tempered, snapping on everyone, but still a good mom.”
He also complained that publicity surrounding his wife’s disappearance had disrupted the family, even keeping his children from going Trick-or-Treating on Halloween.
“My klds can’t even go Trick-or-Treat. I hate it,” he said. “I’m a prisoner here.”

Drew Peterson was a day late for Halloween, but it did not stop him from donning a bizarre disguise and popping out of a neighbor’s house for a few moments.
Peterson, the police sergeant whose wife vanished nearly a week ago, spent most of Thursday holed up in his next-door neighbor’s house with his children and sister-in-law while state police executed a search warrant at his house.
The cops towed two of Peterson’s vehicles — a 2005 GMC sport utility vehicle and a 2002 Pontiac Coupe — and removed property, including personal computers and wireless telephones, from his home.
They also set cadaver dogs to sniffing around the interior of the house, the yard, an above-ground swimming pool and a camper.
Police let the air out of the inflatable Halloween decorations in Peterson’s front yard and searched those as well.
At one point, Peterson emerged from the house wearing an American flag bandanna over his face, dark sunglasses, and an NYPD baseball cap pulled low over his eyes. He walked down his neighbor’s driveway and stood at the edge of the sidewalk.
Asked what was transpiring in the house, Peterson said, “I don’t know.”
When the assembled media caught sight of him, Peterson said, “Oh, I got to run away,” and did just that.
Former Los Angeles Police Det. Mark Fuhrman ventured into the house and met with Peterson. He is in Bolingbrook with Fox News Network.
“I shook his hand,” Fuhrman said. “He was shaking.”
Sister of third wife speaks
Anna Marie Doman, the sister of Peterson’s previous wife, Kathleen Savio, also entered the house of his next-door neighbor and said she spoke to her former brother-in-law.
“Nobody looked at my sister’s case close enough,” Doman said. “I never got a call back (from police). It was like they couldn’t be bothered.”
Doman wants investigators to get to the bottom of the mystery surrounding Peterson’s fourth wife as well, and to determine whether her former brother-in-law had a hand in it.
“If he did it, fine. If he didn’t do it, fine,” she said. “I just want them to find out the truth.”
Stacy Peterson met her future husband about six years ago while she was working at a hotel in Bolingbrook.
Drew Peterson later got Stacy, then 17, a job at the Bolingbrook Police Department, Aikin said.
Aikin said Stacy Peterson grew up in Downers Grove and in Florida and Louisiana. Stacy’s parents divorced when she was a little girl, Aikin said. Stacy lived with her father after the divorce, Aikin said, adding Stacy’s mother had a history of vanishing without telling relatives where she was going.
“And then she would come back into our lives when she felt like calling.”
Aikin said her family had concerns about Drew Peterson’s character early on because he told Stacy when he began dating her that he had never been married.
In fact, Peterson had been married three times before.
When Aikin first met Drew Peterson, “He seemed like a nice guy. He was always very nice to me.”
But in recent months, it became clear that Stacy Peterson was miserable in her 4-year-old marriage, Aikin said.
Stacy confided to her aunt that her cop husband wanted to control her every move. Drew Peterson often asked his wife if she had a boyfriend, Aikin said.
“She was very stressed in her relationship with Drew,” Aikin said. “She was on anti-depressants, and she couldn’t even sleep at night. When I saw her this last time [in October], she was having a very hard time coping with her life. She just looked lost and confused.”
Stacy Peterson told her aunt she wanted to divorce her husband, but didn’t want to lose her children.
Aikin said she last spoke to her niece on Oct. 21.
“She sounded kind of frantic, like she wanted Drew out,” Aikin said. “She was trying to kick him out. She said she would get back with me but she never did.”
Oh, yyyyyikes... now *that* pegs the creep-o-meter!
****As far as flights out, DePaulo says the Bolingbrook airport has no tower and keeps no records of most planes that go in and out.****
Peterson has a plane!!! Could he have made a quickie flight and dumped her over a lake? Liars often incorporate some of the truth in their scenarios - i.e. *she took a flight and left with her boyfriend* and *someone picked her up in a car*
He has made so many contradicting statements - the police need a forensic psychiatrist to interpret all his subliminals!!!!
Look at the way she has her left shoulder up -- defensively -- and her upper body leaned away from him. Her facial expression looks awkward, too.
Have taken the liberty to start a *ping* list - if you want off or on - let me know. Believe this case is going to be very complex and stunning!
Every week one of these stories is grabbed by the cable stations. Is there ANYONE in the entire universe that doesn’t know that this guy killed his wife??? His 4th wife? His 3rd having died in a DRY bathtub!!!? Come-on. Stop this charade. He killed her. He’s guilty. You know they’re going to get him eventually. He’s a moron. The police chief must feel very proud!!!!!! LOL! May God give her peace.
The National Enquirer reported this morning on their website that they have confirmed he became engaged to Britney Spears two nights ago. A Vegas wedding is planned.
I’ll get the popcorn. Is Bolingbrook another Cicero?
Oh yeah, NOW I can see exactly what she saw in him. What a hunk of Man Meat! Wow! That receding hairline and double chin would be enough to drive any woman sex crazy!!!!!!
***Is Bolingbrook another Cicero?***
Alls I know - ‘don’t believe anything that comes out of this moron’s mouth’.
I would be checking every missing person case and every suspicious death in his jurisdiction.
I would also want to check the guy who has been staying with Peterson, in his house, for the past several days. To remove a car from the airport you need transportation to get it IOW - TWO drivers.
Thanks for the ping. I guess I’ll be keeping an eye on the news today.
“””His 3rd having died in a DRY bathtub!!!? “””
According to 3rd wife’s sister - she agreed to a divorce before financial settlement - because “she felt sorry for the pregnant 17year-old Stacy”. Third wife also changed the beneficiary on her $1m life insurance policy - from hubby to their 2 children. He didn’t know about that!!!!!
Mr. Innocent Police Sgt. - (if any part of what he believes is true) has full access to the media - would surely make a plea to his *troubled* wife:
*Stacy, please come home and let us resolve our problems. Our children need you. If you are unwilling to call me - please contact your father, sister, aunt or the State authorities and let everyone know that you are alive and safe.*
End of problem!
So, Stacy was messing around with a married man?! Hello...
