University of Delaware Requires Students to Undergo Ideological Reeducation
FIRE - Foundation for Individual Rights in Education ^ | 10/30/07 | FIRE

Posted on 10/30/2007 7:28:05 PM PDT by cowtowney

NEWARK, Del., October 30, 2007—The University of Delaware subjects students in its residence halls to a shocking program of ideological reeducation that is referred to in the university’s own materials as a “treatment” for students’ incorrect attitudes and beliefs.

The organization cited excerpts from the university's Office of Residence Life Diversity Education Training documents, including the statement:

"A RACIST: A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. 'The term applies to all white people (i.e., people of European descent) living in the United States, regardless of class, gender, religion, culture or sexuality. By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination….'"

Harker just took over. He came from Penn. I’m not sure a state school is quite ready for Ivy League levels of white guilt. Many students at Delaware are public school products who have experienced the wonders of diversity first hand, and won’t be fooled by some RA.

Time for one giant student walk out and class action suit.

Hitler would be envious...

Can this be happening in the United States? What comes next - any student who declines to become retrained hauled off to the gulag?

This is chilling - This school actually needs to be closed down and the powers that be all expelled.

I still can’t really grasp this - the cold wind of Socialism/Communism is grasping this country.

Where are the parents/alumni on this? Have they gotten so far that the students -= who are being, it sounds to me, threatened on a one-on-one basis - so cowed that they don't dare rise up?

In the meantime, we should all email this head thug: "Sieg Heil!"

This book (Amazon) was written in 1993 - sounds like this college (and how many others?) used it for a blueprint...

The Shadow University

http://www.amazon.com/Shadow-University-Betrayal-Americas-Campuses/dp/0684853213

We need to stop calling those who call themselves democrats - democrats. They are Socialists - card carrying.

It ain't a new phenomenon - time for us all to wake up and smell the

This is how they are winning - the Socialists/Communists know we are asleep - that we may see and hear these things but we do nothing because we can't believe they will be allowed to continue.

We just know that someone will take care of it.

Well, we are that someone. What are we going to do...?

Here's what some students had to say

http://www.thefire.org/index.php/torch/?PHPSESSID=914d77d42a0c91a5502700ed3609d368#8558

Maybe we could contact FIRE and see if we can help them in exposing these actions -

fire@thefire.org

Contacting the scum at the college will do NO good - spitting in the wind. After all, if we're any kind of 'white', we're racist pigs to be trod upon...

“By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination….’”

This is the most shocking statement. If this were a white supremesist society, then why do we have special laws protecting minorities? Racism means that a person of one race believe and behaves as if people of other races are inferior. Many people of color live very well in this country, better than many whites and a good number of them believe in their innate superiority over whites. Racism is alive and well among people of color. I’ve experienced it first hand. And many white people have experienced it and are afraid of speaking out because the liberals will attack you and make your life a living hell.

For those interested, most of those who read here, is a Socialsm in America website: http://www.sovereignty.net/center/socialists.htm

Here is a print of the page:Socialism in America

Socialism in America is alive, well, and growing. Aided by such influential Congressmen as John Conyers, Ranking Member of the House Judicial Committee, David Bonior, the pit-bull-dog who successfully whipped Newt, Maxine Waters, the President’s outspoken defender in the impeachment debates, and nearly 60 other Representatives, socialism is advancing in America behind the “Progressive” label. Here are a few excerpts taken directly from the web page of the Democratic Socialists of America. (Italicized emphasis provided)

“The Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) is the largest socialist organization in the United States, and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International. DSA’s members are building progressive movements for social change while establishing an openly socialist presence in American communities and politics.

“At the root of our socialism is a profound commitment to democracy, as means and end. We are activists committed not only to extending political democracy but to demanding democratic empowerment in the economy, in gender relations, and in culture. Democracy is not simply one of our political values but our means of restructuring society. Our vision is of a society in which people have a real voice in the choices and relationships that affect the entirety of our lives. We call this vision democratic socialism - a vision of a more free, democratic and humane society.

We are socialists because we reject an international economic order sustained by private profit, alienated labor, race and gender discrimination, environmental destruction, and brutality and violence in defense of the status quo.

We are socialists because we share a vision of a humane international social order based both on democratic planning and market mechanisms to achieve equitable distribution of resources, meaningful work, a healthy environment, sustainable growth, gender and racial equality, and non-oppressive relationships.”

Here is what “Liberty” looks like to a socialist:

“A democratic commitment to a vibrant pluralist life assumes the need for a democratic, responsive, and representative government to regulate the market, protect the environment, and ensure a basic level of equality and equity for each citizen. In the 21st century, such regulation will increasingly occur through international, multilateral action. But while a democratic state can protect individuals from domination by inordinately powerful, undemocratic transnational corporations, people develop the social bonds that render life meaningful only through cooperative, voluntary relationships. Promoting such bonds is the responsibility of socialists and the government alike.

“The social welfare programs of government have been for the most part positive, if partial, responses to the genuine social needs of the great majority of Americans. The dismantling of such programs by conservative and corporate elites in the absence of any alternatives will be disastrous. Abandoning schools, health care, and housing, for example, to the control of an unregulated free market magnifies the existing harsh realities of inequality and injustice.”

The action agenda posted on the socialists’ web site very closely parallels Agenda 21, and the recommendations of the President’s Council on Sustainable Development. The web site boasts the creation of the “Progressive Caucus” in Congress, as well as the coalition that is working to promote the socialist agenda in Congress.

All are connected through IGC-APC (Institute for Global Communications, and the Association of Progressive Communications). Virtually all of these organizations, including the Democratic Socialists of America, have web sites hosted by IGC-APC.

The policy gains that have been made in recent years on both the international and domestic fronts are largely the result of the communications capability of these organizations. Freedom.org was conceived more than five years ago to provide similar communications capability to organizations that are not socialists. The Property Rights Congress will be pioneering that new capability. Non-socialist organizations are far behind, and have much catching-up to do.

What these moron educators don’t realize is that by doing what they are doing, they are ensuring that future racists are being created. Americans by nature are contrarian to a certain degree, and the surest way to get them to do or be one way is to try and make the choice for them. On their own, most Americans will do the right thing by their own choice, but take that option away, and you are guaranteed a result opposite to the one desired.

From this web page at the University of Delaware
http://www.udel.edu/reslife/students/wholenewworld.htm

Whole New World Training

The following articles were recommended as suggested readings by Dr. Shakti Butler during the training she provided for staff and Whole New World facilitators during her training sessions on August 15 and 16, 2007.

Confessions of Donna
Culture of White Supremacy
Detour Spotting for White Anti Racists
Peggy McIntosh
White Racial Identity

Those last 5 are links that take you to MS Word and Adobe Acrobat docs that include some really interesting statements. The Culture of White Supremacy document in particular is pretty enlightening as to the mindset of these diversity idiots, with section headings like “White Culture is a Deadly Brew”.
