A lot of has to do with “one-of-our-own†mentality. However it isn’t restricted to police officers. If a taxi driver is robbed and killed on the job you will see fellow drivers take to the streets demanding justice. If a firefighter dies in a home illegal converted into apts for 20+ individuals, you will see fellow firefighters demand the landlord’s head. Etc.
