I saw Dylan. While I didn’t expect much from him I was quite disappointed....and I love the guy.I would give anything to be taken back in time and be able to see him in ‘63 or ‘64 but today...no thanks.

I agree, saw Dylan a couple of years ago and at the end of the concert it was like everyone was quite ready to go home.

Have you heard the Allison Krauss/Robert Plant release? If so, what did you think?
To: GSWarrior
When I was in college in Austin, Alejandro Escovedo’s True Believers played parties at my house.

Setzer was a cousin of a colleague of mine. Really cool guy.
I last saw him play in NOLA at Tipitina’s several years ago. He closed it out by playing the theme from Bonanza. It was great.

Big Brother & The Holding Company toured this year and existed as that lineup I think going back to even before Janis joined. I think it was at least 3 or 4 original members.

I saw a real good show from Dylan on tour with Paul Simon. His set was much better than Simon’s. I’d never seen either before. I caught Dylan again at the Rodeo in the Astrodome (YEARS ago) and the accoustics are never that great there, and he wasn’t in good voice on that show.
But I’d say that he’s still CAPABLE of giving a good show even if they are inconsistent from night to night/tour to tour.
He had Charlie Sexton in his band at that point.

There were upwards of 2,000 bands at SXSW this year in Austin. Don’t ask me to even try to compile a list.
But I did see the Buddy Holly’s Crickets (all 3 original). Sonny West (who wrote Rave On) played at the same event in Green Bay but they didn’t share the stage.

Kenny Chesney
Jason Aldean
Sugar Land
Pat Green
Rodney Atkins
Flynnville Train
Miranda Lambert
Taylor Swift
Brooks and Dunn
Tobey Keith
Alan Jackson
Brad Paisley
Rascal Flatts
Stix
Def Leopard
Foreigner
Wow, I go to a lot of concerts...

Straylight Run
Head Autmomatica
Rebecca St. James
Delerious?
Sherwood

Relient K
Gym Class Heroes

Third Eye Blind
Anberlin
Total spent on concert tickets: about $20-$25. I got into the majority of those shows for free one way or another. I was supposed to go to Warped Tour (also would have been free, and with essentially a backstage pass), but some vehicle breakdowns prevented me from making it.

But Id say that hes still CAPABLE of giving a good show even if they are inconsistent from night to night/tour to tour. I,unlike some, have never been a big fan of just about anything he did after Nashville Skyline.Yes,I'm a conservative who *loves* the folk music of the early/mid 60's and particularly love Dylan's first half dozen or so albums. And given that he pretty much stopped doing that stuff about 40 years ago I guess I was bound to be disappointed.
I guess it just comes down to "whatever floats your boat".

This past summer, with the Seattle Chamber Music Society, I attended 18 concerts over a 6 week period. There were too many musicians to name, too many great pieces of music that were performed, and we even premiered a new work for piano, cello and clarinet.
I'm not familiar with any of the names you quoted.
