I’ve just come home from my ultrasound and it’s official. Here’s what he said:

‘I’ve got good news and bad news. It looks like an encapsulated type growth with defined margins, which is good. The bad news is that there’s only one way to be sure. You can go with a core biopsy, but I prefer a surgical biopsy and I think your doctor does, too. That way the whole thing comes out.’’

Translation: [as I interpret it] the cells can change, so get them out.

Here’s the thing: I feel different this time. I’ve had surgeries and they upset me, but this time it’s different and that’s scary.

I don’t want to be so self-involved as to post a thread
but I do want each FReeper to know how I appreciate him/her.

OMG! You know me too well!!!

I could not sleep [!] and here I am reading all your wonderful kind words and I am overwhelmed with warmheart!

As I cracked wise to several of you via p.m., I will keep you ‘abreast’ of the situation. Five years ago, I had a hysterectomy and cracked wise then, too, telling the surgeon, “I want some perky new knobs!”

Little did I know how clairvoyant I may be!

RE the monks . . . like most groups . . . depends . . . but at least they tend to make more of an overt effort toward peacableness and at least a show of serenity—some fairly authentically.

But . . . I learned in Taiwan and China . . . some of the under the table, behind the scenes stuff can be as ruthless and cut-throat as any orientation’s devotees.

Doesn’t it feel wonderful this year to say Merry CHRISTmas? I said it at the car repair after the cashier told me Happy Holidays and explaining she had to be ‘correct.’

I told her unless she ever saw me with my head covered I’d always say Merry CHRISTmas!

We had yellow hat buddhists here and I love how they argue...always smiling when they do...arguing ironic things together...happy and brotherly! Bless you FRiend!

Yes, an amiable group of them can argue most agreeably. Almost like a polite dance, of sorts.

But if one listens closely, one can usually find some hard, steely stubbornness underneath the facade in more than an individual or two.

Like most groups and individuals . . . all that has to happen is for some pet biases or insecure egos to be crossed.

Though, perhaps, it is more commong in the average group of such . . . emphasizing NONindividuality—for ego problems to be at least nominally lain aside.

I met her at the TexasCowboy memorial shoot last spring. She is an amazing woman with a personality unlike any I’ve ever seen. (the mold was truly broken after her) ;~D
