I have recent personal experience, shooting Cowboy Action with a repro Win 92 with that nice metal strip right down the top of the stock . . . on a cold December day!
Fortunately I brought a nice warm poncho . . . looked kinda like Clint Eastwood, if Clint Eastwood were female and were wearing Indian hairpipes . . . . all the good female cowboy names were taken, so I'm a female Crow Indian scout.
