We're All Lucky to be Alive -- That's a Good Thing! (Shameless Vanity)

Not only am I feeling lucky, I'm feeling optimistic. It feels good to be alive. I am grateful to God.

I don't think it's impossible for you to win the lottery. It could happen. But if you think about it, we've all already won some sort of lottery. Let me get scientific with you for a bit.

Ok, so here's the deal. So we all know (a) how babies are made and (b) where babies come from...

...in case you don't know: the answers are (a) extreme heat and excessive pressure and (b) imported from China.

Seriously, though, after intercourse, there are approximately 500,000,000 little soldiers trying to make it to the woman's ovum. But out of all these, only one made it. That's YOU. That's right! You beat the odds (500,000,000:1) and made it into this world.

So next time you're a little sad, or feeling blue, or trying to beat the house in blackjack, just remember: luck is on your side!

So let's all be thankful that we're here.

Mods, feel free to delete if I broke a rule or something. I've thought about this before and wanted to share. I think it's something nice to remember when we start worrying about politics, crime, the world, etc. It's nice to remember something like this when things seem a bit down.

Oh come clean... all this irrational exuberance is because you:

1) Hit the lottery.
2) Scored with your “mate”.
3) Had a near death experience.
4) Are doing happy drugs.
5) All of the above.

LOL, you forgot:

6) Were actually able to obtain a Wii for Christmas.

Haha, but in all honesty, it just came to me. Sometimes, having nothing to do at work has its upside.

Nice post! :)

It’s always good to remember that we have God, we have family, we have good friends and nice things. We are blessed to live in our modern world with the freedom and priveledge of being American. And we have these things both because of the great men who sacrificed on the battlefield, the mothers and fathers who have given us life, and the average joes working in the fields or offices as the backbone of our economy.
