Ahhhhhhhh, you had to remind me of that pig Neal O'Donnell.

He's not even allowed in the Burgh anymore.

Did that guy come out of nowhere, or what?

I wasn’t surprised. It was one of the greatest performances ever in the big game (and it mostly took place only in the second quarter).

Craig Morton is also the only QB to have started a Super Bowl for two different teams (Dallas Super Bowl V and Denver in Super Bowl XII).

1 Phil Simms 160.08

How'd he do that when a perfect passing rating is 158.3?

Is this their all-time rating or is it based on individual games?

OMG..When was Bob Lee ever in a Super Bowl. Must have been clean-up for Kapp in Super Bowl IV or Tarkenton in the 70's.

He was supposedly a distant relation to Robert E. Lee.

Wow. I knew Kerry Collins had a bad game, but a 3.37 Wow. IMHO, the Ravens had the third best defense in history. Only the 86 Giants and 85 Bears were better.

The problem with this and all other "Super Bowl" lists is that it does not cover the many, many years when the NFL Championship was not called the "Super Bowl."

There were only four actual "Super Bowls," i.e., the NFL champion playing the AFL champion, 1967-70, and only in the last two of these was the Super Bowl champion (Jets, Chiefs) a team other than the NFL champion.

So a better list would include ALL the NFL championship games, not just the "Super Bowls."

I'm from Chicago. The 1963 pre-"Super Bowl" Bears were as much NFL champion as the 1985-86 Bears.

As a Giants fan I remember that game all too well. I was on a high from the Minnesotta game, and that high was gone replaced by bitter dissappointment. Thank God for the real LT. At least I’ve been fortunate enough to see my team win a couple of titles. And the giants fanchise, as well as the careers of so many players and coaches, owns that man a great debt of thanks.

I usually trick folks up when I ask them how many NFL championships have the Vikings won? Most of them don’t realize that the ‘69 Vikes were the last NFL champs before the merger.

I always wondered what would have happenedif they didn' call that bogus defensive hold on Keith Hamilton as Armstead raced into the end zone on a pic in the 1st Q. Word had it that Dilfer was on a tight leash. I wonder if Billick would have taken the ball out of his hands. <>PHats off to the Ravens. They shut down a powerhouse offense. I remember sitting in amazement at the 41-0 crushing of the Vikes.

LT was the most amazing plyer I have ever seen. I feel bad for the young pups who never had a chance to see him play. Changed the entire sport. I laugh every draft day when some LB is supposed to be the next LT. Good luck with that I say to myself.

I’ve never seen a defensive player dominate the way he did in 1986. It was comical watching offenses trying to figure out how to block him.

LT was an amazing natutal athlete. Didn’t lift weights, work out that much, yet dmominated offense for close to ten years. And he had a very high pain threshold. Perhaps, not to make lite of it, it was because he was high on drugs quite often. I can’t believe he’s still alive.
The worst thing that happened from that superbowl loss was that Ray Lewis went on to become a gloried wide receiver, mouthing off about everything all the time. In my opinion Bruschi at his best was as good as lewis. And yet because he keeps his mouth shut and just plays the game, he was left off a lot of prowl bowl squads.

It was pretty obvious why Disney chose to use Dilfer in their Super Bowl ad that year rather than Lewis who was that games’ MVP.

I haven’t been to night clubs in years, but I made it a point not to get a murder victims blood on me after I heard the story of Lewis. It seemed to me the police charged him with a crime hoping to make him talk about what actually happened. I’m still not certain of the facts surrounding that incident.

I think the rating as you say is a max 158.3 now. I’m not sure how they calculate the rating. I would suspect that touchdown to interception ratio is important. But I don’t think they factor in how many times a QB fumbles or takes a sack which is crucial in big games.

Apparently during that offseason Smith’s agent demanded that Bobby Bethard make him the highest paid back in the league. Bethard couldn’t stop laughing.

I checked my math, and my math was correct. However, I “broke the rules”. The first variable in Sims statistic ended up at 2.9 and it cannot exceed 2.375.

Oh well. Therefore Sim’s rating was 150.

Now Kerry Collins is the official worst QB in a Super Bowl.

Again, Craig Morton, if you are out there, I am sorry.

“14 Bret Farve 97.61”

Brett (and all of WISCONSIN) sends his regrets that he won’t be there this year. ;)

But there’s always NEXT year! The past three times we’ve lost the NFC Championship, we’ve come back the VERY next year to win the Superbowl! All is not lost, Packer Fans! :)
