Obama's pastor disses Natalee Holloway
WND.Com ^ | Posted: January 27, 2008 | © 2008 WorldNetDaily.com

Sen. Barack Obama's longtime friend and spiritual adviser trashed the memory of a missing and presumed dead American teenage girl, according to church publications reviewed by WND.

Rev. Jeremiah Wright, the controversial minister of Obama's church in Chicago, cited the case of Natalee Holloway's disappearance in Aruba in complaining about what he sees as the media's bias in covering white victims of crime over black victims.

"Black women are being raped daily in Darfur, Sudan, in the Congo and in Sub-Saharan Africa. That doesn't make news," Wright said in the August 2005 edition of Trumpet Magazine, a publication of his Trinity United Church of Christ.

But, "One 18-year-old white girl from Alabama gets drunk on a graduation trip to Aruba, goes off and 'gives it up' while in a foreign country, and that stays in the news for months!" he added. "Maybe I am missing something!"

~

In the same 2005 church publication, Wright suggested "white America" had the 9/11 attacks coming, while calling for business "divestment from Israel," which he refers to as a "racist" state along with America.

~

Though Wright has nurtured Obama's political career as a close adviser and mentor, the Democrat presidential hopeful says they don't agree on everything. Wright married Obama and baptized his daughters.

... Wright sang the praises of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, who has described whites as "blue-eyed devils" and Jews as "bloodsuckers."

"He brings a perspective that is helpful and honest," Wright said. "Minister Farrakhan will be remembered as one of the 20th and 21st century giants of the African-American religious experience."

Wright then held Farrakhan up as a pillar of "integrity."

~

On Nov. 2, 2007, Wright presented Farrakhan with a "lifetime achievement" award ... tribute included a three-and-a-half minute video lionizing "the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan."

Well, it's WND so some folks don't care for their stuff at all. Doesn't sound like a pastor I'd stick around to hear (the article says Obama doesn't agree with him on everything).

Have at it, folks ...

Well, if I wanted to be as crass as he (the pastor) was, I could agree with the following ...

“Black women are being raped daily in Darfur, Sudan, in the Congo and in Sub-Saharan Africa. That doesn’t make news,” ...

But, “One 18-year-old white girl from Alabama gets drunk on a graduation trip to Aruba, goes off and ‘gives it up’ while in a foreign country, and that stays in the news for months!” ...

So, this means the Lieberal MSM should be labeled _____________.

I hate that he’ll get away with just saying “I don’t agree with him on everything”, when Republicans are without exception held guilty by association. And you don’t call a man your “spiritual leader” while disagreeing with him on issues such as these.

There are a lot of rapes in Africa. Most of the killing is done by islamic terrorists. These stories ARE in the national media. They just leave out the teensy-weensy fact that it’s the religion of peace members that are doing the killing and raping in most of those African countries.

And then there’s Calypso Louie ...

Correct me if I’m wrong, but those of us who cared deeply for this case took offense at Aruba’s desire for US dollars, versus their lackadaisical investigation when one of ours was evidently murdered. In other words, they want our commerce, but if one of theirs murders one of ours, tough luck.

They are not American women being raped there. And that is the difference. It make the news in America because she is an American. It's not that hard to follow.

I recommend that all the major newspapers and news magazines put out a special issue with the mug shots of every convicted rapist over the past year. My guess is the "Reverend" wouldn't like it very much, and would be demanding the censorship of those publications without delay.

Ouch. That is terrible and very disrespectful to a dead American teenager.

How does he know she “gave it up” when most published reports suggest the Aruban boys slipped her a date rape drug and panicked when she died during or after a gang rape.

This man’s comments are despicable and racist in origin, and if Obama is a real man he will publcly denounce them as such.

According to the heads of Iraq's chemical and biological weapons programmes, his answer is disingenuous at best and an outright lie at worst. Some of the equipment (which was "dual use") came from Europe, but the suppliers were told that it was for pharmaceutical research and production.

the George Bush-controlled media

Thats pretty funny.

I sat next to a Democrat "meetup" at a bookstore-cafe here during the Kerry campaign, and listened to them going on about how the GOP had seized control of CNN and the other cable news outlets since back in the nineties, the Bush/Nazi connections, how police were targeting Democrats with Kerry bumper stickers, and on and on. It was pretty funny. The really funny thing is that they all looked like rather normal people, but their views were like something out of a comic book.

“Obama’s Pastor Speaks Out”

snip

Forgive me for having a momentary lapse. I forgot that The New York Times was leading the bandwagon in trumpeting why it is we should have gone into an illegal war. The New York Times became George Bush and the Republican Party’s national “blog.” The New York Times played a role in the outing of Valerie Plame. I do not know why I thought The New York Times had actually repented and was going to exhibit a different kind of behavior.

Maybe it was my faith in the Jewish Holy Day of Roshashana. Maybe it was my being caught up in the euphoria of the Season of Lent; but whatever it is or was, I was sadly mistaken. There is no repentance on the part of The New York Times. There is no integrity when it comes to The Times. You should do well with that paper, Jodi. You looked me straight in my face and told me a lie!

Sincerely and respectfully yours,
Reverend Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. ,
Senior Pastor
Trinity United Church of Christ

I would have to agree. If these are his words they are disturbing. Certainly there was a lot of coverage of the Natalee tragedy. I don’t have cable so perhaps I didn’t see as much of it.

But his disdain for Israel and love for Calypso Louie are very disturbing as well. I posted the first part of the article to present the context of the title but had to choose selected passages to stay within 300 words.

Obama can do what he wants. I wouldn’t sit in that church nor have any association with this guy based on the apparent comments found in this article.

Jeremiah is a black bigot! I searched his church’s web site and found only one mention of Jesus and that is one reference to children. If he admires Farrakhan, I doubt that he is a believer. Now what does that say about OBAMA?

Yeah, and also not to mention that women in those African countries are largely blacks raped (and murdered) by other blacks. There is NO compaerison on any level that makes any sense between Holloway and VanDerSloot and the Kalpos and that whole culture of Aruba. Pastor Wrigght sounds every bit as out of it as Farrakhan/ Pathetic. Obaba is not serving himself well, and his embrace of this guy, plus
the acceptance of endorsements of Kerry and Ted Ken’dy are inevitably going to shake his support in some circles.

>>>Black women are being raped daily in Darfur, Sudan, in the Congo and in Sub-Saharan Africa. That doesn't make news <<<

That's because its not being done by white men, but hang a noose in Jenna and its off to the races..
