She’s lost a lot of weight.

But, but, it’s much more fun to make snipe at her looks. /s/

Your tagline works here.

I have to leave this thread. It’s just too DU for my taste.

- The great Aretha Franklin belts one out for audience at the 2008 Grammy Awards”...

She is a wonderfully talented singer.

How embarrasing for you that you see her weight first.

I saw Aretha in concert three years ago. Looking at this picture, she hasn’t grown any since then. But the lady’s got pipes that put Beyonce or Amy Winehouse to shame! You Go, (Big) Girl!

She’s 65. She outlived Jim Fixx.

LOL, how true. There's something to be said for living your life and not being obsessed over exercise and such.

You realize the obsession and remarks about Nancy’s weight is one of the reasons they stopped performing for a long long time.

I mean, why should she put herself through the crap? So people got what they deserved, a bunch of talentless twits who ‘look’ pretty but can’t sing worth a dang.

Excellent. What a voice.

Here's Ann explaining who they are, from Canada, etc.

Nancy is an underrated singer herself. Click here for a recent sample.

And with that, the Aretha --> Heart thread hijack is complete.

My work here is done.

Finger scramble.....
One is svelte,
the other voluptuous.....

Both valuable as entertainers....same as Aretha.

No, gosh, I feel awful. I always thought they were rather over-rated, but compared to what we’ve got nowadays...

(Not that it’s any better, but I was sorta more making fun of Anne Wilson more than Nancy.)

Ann looks smaller in that picture than she has in recent years. She looks like she has lost some weight.

As for Aretha - love you, ReRe!

I see a great singer singing....

As do I. It's a shame to think the whole point of posting the picture with (that's just wrong alert) in the headline was to make snarky remarks about Aretha's size.

All I can do is throw alot of respect her way--she's one of the greatest of all times.

“Aretha is the best. How’s that for a caption?”

Amen!!

She could perform in a burlap sack and bring the house DOWN!!!

Her voice is a National treasure! Glad I am able to listen to her in my lifetime. They’ll never be another Aretha Franklin!

Eh, like the Ventures or some other "over the hill" folks I just close my eyes and listen. Then again there are some Lane Bryant like above average weight people that SHOULD NEVER wear certain attire. Then there's *ahem" San Francisco Barry Abdul....

The secret to their success is to let the talent perform, it’s like a HUGE concert with a different act playing their favorite songs - just keep them away from the mic when they aren’t singing and it will be great.

Ann and Nancy seem less than hot to me nowadays.

Then again, I’ve gained 60 pounds since the 70’s, too.

Doesn’t Aretha have any friends who love her enough to tell the truth?

That’s one thing I can like about musicians. They can hold whatever political views they’d like, as long as it doesn’t transfer into their music.

Though I do enjoy patriotic songs. I just don’t like drooling left-wing BS in music.

Perhaps a beter guage of their success would be how many Black yuts they negatively influence OR how many times they've been shot orr have shot at someone else. Maybe have target shooting for their awards? Frankly, I feel the same way about this Brit gal Durggie, never should have earned any reward.
