Does Snerdly exist?
Rush Limbaugh Show | Today | CrimsonDynamo

Posted on 02/25/2008 11:18:25 AM PST by CrimsonDynamo

For more than 12 years we listened to Rush every day at our families software business.
I distinctly remember hearing a call from a female who asked if there was a Mr. Snerdly.
Rush said that he was made up and that he was merely an alter ego for bouncing ideas off of himself,
Like Rush was being his own Devil's advocate.
Someone has told me that they have actually heard Mr. Snerdly speaking on air.
I know the person who told me that is a certifiable flake, but am I losing my mind? Thanks.

Snerdly is a nickname that Rush made up and gave to his call screeners during the early years of his national show. There were actually several Snerdlys. If I remember correctly, the longest running of these was Bo Snerdly (real name James Golden). In the early days of internet radio, Golden left Rush’s show to do his own internet talk show. However, this only lasted for about a year before the company folded up. Since this time Golden has rejoined Rush’s support team as the “Official Program Observer”. I don’t really know what this job entails. Any way, when you here Rush refer to Bo Snerdly or Mr. Snerdly on his show, this is who he is talking about.

Oh my.........I always thought this was a real person.

Real person(s), fake name

FYI most radio personalities use fake names, ususally somewhat similar to their real names, to help avoid stalkers.

It's common in broadcasting to use on-air names.

At a multi-station radio group I used to work for there was one young lady who had a morning show slot with one name on Station A, and a news reading position on Station B with another name.

The news reader pseudonym: Paige Turner.

Indeed it is. Back in BC, one of my neighbors had a friend in AM radio and they almost never used their real names for privacy and safety reasons.

Usually, they would use the first REAL name then last name would be made up.

Just like pornstar names such as d**k harder (sorry for the example).

Not being a 24/7 member, I was always a bit skeptical of the existence of Mr. Snerdly - - - I wasn’t sure if he was in the disgronificator category or not - - - but then I saw the Limbaugh Letter at a friend’s house and it had pictures of Snerdly, so I decided he was real after all.
