That reminds me of a little boy I met years ago (gosh, I guess he’s all grown up now...YIKES). Anyway, he was a V, and upon being indroduced to me, he politely stuck out his hand and said, “Pleased to meet you, Miss. What is YOUR number?”
He seemed shocked to learn that I had no number. While he said nothing, the look on his face was clearly casting aspersions as to the competency of my parents. He obviously thought they had fallen down on the job.
Regards,

I was watching the local news here in DFW one evening and they were covering a story about a shooting that had happened in one of Dallas' apartment complexes (which is somewhat common it seems).
One of the witnesses they interviewed was a young black girl named "Shonterrical." I kid you not; that's how it was spelled out on the screen. I wrote it down on a sticky and stuck it on the fridge where I plan to compile all the names I see on TV and save them for posteriety.

When my husband was working in his company's call center, not a day went by that he didn't come across one or two truly freakish names. (His company does welfare enrollment for the state of Michigan.) The two I remember best are "Plascensha" and "Chair"--the latter being pronounced "Share/Cher."
There's a female impersonator in our town who had his name legally changed to Sexual Blue--that always makes me laugh.

In black communities, you will find many black females in their early thirties named Aisha because of the big Stevie Wonder hit,Isnt She Lovely, where he mentions his daughters name,Aisha. And you will also find a lot of younger ones named Aisha because it's the name of one of MadMo's wives. I think Aisha was the one he married when she was six and had sex with when she was nine. What a legacy.
