I was BANNED from the Democratic Underground (DU) today.
I was banned for posting the following thread:
Subject: WOW!!! Sen. Obama is playing us like a fiddle!
Text: Sen. Obama's team set up this whole Race debacle from the get go, just so that he would have the stage set for this absolutely stirring speech on race relations. I have never seen the race card played so brilliantly in all the history of American politics. BRILLIANT!!!!
If the media gives this speech as much play as the racist Rev. Wright issue, and they will...he will find the new momentum he needs to secure the popular vote in the dem primary, no doubt. This man may even be our next POTUS, judging by the brilliant political savvy his team is displaying and his heaping helping of charisma, he is looking very very good!
Can any of you see this backfiring? I simply can not.

After being referred to as a "troll freeper," I wanted to join this forum as a liberal and see what it is you folks are all about. So, here I am, letting you conservatives know that there are liberals being banned by the [expletive deleted] from Liberal forums because we do NOT agree with the path Sen. Obama et al. have chosen. I am not the only one that has been banned for speaking out against these race card tactics.
Many of us are disgusted.
I'm sure it will not be long before I'm banned here too, but I will play by your rules until then.

A new national study shows voters in all parties are “less likely” to support Illinois Sen. Barack Obama after viewing video segments of his former pastor’s sermons.
The study, conducted by HCD Research among 798 self-reported Democrats, Republicans and independents, was conducted earlier today to gauge Americans’ perceptions of video segments of sermons given by Jeremiah Wright.
One question: After watching the video are you: More likely/Less likely to support Obama?
* Democrats: More likely 19 percent; Less likely 52 percent; Don’t know 28 percent.
* Republicans: More likely 7 percent; Less likely 71 percent; Independents 54 percent.
* Independents: More likely 18 percent; Less likely 54 percent; Don’t know 29 percent.

Besides that, seems like a bunch of rants with no discussion whatsoever behind the foul language, and intermittent death threats. It all seems so, juvenile.
Yeah, around here we try to keep the death threats to a minimum!
Some of the polls are quite disturbing.
Instead of uniting everyone, Obama is doing the opposite.
Banned from DU? Don’t take it personally. I’ve been banned from there a dozen times.
It’s a real shame that you’ve used the word ‘liberal’ as part of your screen name, because if you do in fact actually spend some time here and actually read what true Conservatives actually do say and think, and not what the dinosaur media ‘says’ we say and think, then you will most likely come around to our way of looking at things.
You see, Conservatism is based upon logic and solid ideological foundations, not emotion and Marxism or other failed, unworkable belief systems.
Some things that might surprise you:
1. We’re not racists
2. We’re not ‘full of hate’
3. We’re highly educated
4. We’re extremely open minded (but not so much so that our brains fall out)
and those are just a very few things that might surprise you.....others here can add to the list if they like :-)
So, make yourself comfortable and spend some time here, but you might want to consider changing that screen name unless you want to be CONSTANTLY explaining yourself.

I DO have to try to point out to you that “liberal” is a misnomer. Who’s more likely to let you smoke a cigar, or tell an off-color joke, or accept you driving a non-Prius, gas-guzzling vehicle? It’s the “Conservatives” that’ll let you get away with that behavior, not the “Liberals.”
The sides have, over the past couple of decades, switched. But the “Liberals” want to have it both ways. Sorry. Today’s “Liberals” are pure fascists. Today’s “Conservatives” likely would love you to drop by, and undoubtedly pour you a drink.

Do you believe Rev. Wright is a racist?
What is your opinion of someone who chooses a bigot as his spiritual advisor/leader? Are you comfortable with such a person becoming POTUS?
Do you agree that the left is NOT color blind and that in fact it is the right, generally speaking, who judge people by the content of their character as opposed to the color of their skin?
Why would anyone support hate speech coming from the pulpit?

I took a look at the YouTube record of Wright's speeches again late last night, after listening to Obama's speech and listening to the spin on MSNBC and CNN. (I'm a former Liberal and like to assure myself that I've done the right thing by turning conservative)
Wright's speeches looked even scarier after hearing Obama's and the media's attempts to make everything seem okay.
Too bad for Obama that his speech can't erase Wright's words.
