Look at post number 104, she is the girl in the middle. She didn’t need the surgery period.

You must pick and choose the threads you read carefully, because that is not my experience.

You'd be surprised. Push-up and padded bras can do wonders.

Don't blame the parents. Blame a culture that salivates over large breasts, whether made by God or surgeons. Blame TV, videos, and websites that make it seem to a young girl as if this is the only standard of worth or beauty. Blame young men who will drop a girl if her breasts aren't big enough.

Liberalism seeks to blame everyone and everything but the responsible party. Personally, I hold the parents and the young woman responsible - in that order.

“So the moral of the story (besides not having plastic surgery at 18) is that you shouln’t have surgery requiring general anasthesia outside of a hospital?”

I can’t really answer that one. EVERY anesthesiologist is quite aware that any patient could go in to cardiac arrest or have an allergic reaction. Surgery is inherently risky and healthy people undergoing simple procedures die on the table even in hospitals.

I agree. Some people have no class... and I'm advised to grow a "thicker skin" and accused of being "holier-than-thou" because I disagree - and say so. It has nothing to do with being a Christian. That gets thrown in our faces all the time. It's a matter of human decency. Just because you can say something, doesn't mean you should. Fewer people practice discretion nowadays. The US, as a society, has certainly degenerated in large part to the lowest common denominator over the past few decades, IMO.

I’m primarily looking at her face, which is beautiful. The breasts wether she is using pushups or not are very nice. She didn’t need the surgery.

Where the hell was the anesthesiologist or did this "outpatient surgery unit" cut costs by not even having one?

when my son underwent surgery for a broken nose last year, one of the first things i asked his surgeon was who was going to administer the anesthesia... and i ensured it was an actual doctor who specializes in anthesiology and not a nurse who was certified... our surgeon was pleasantly surprised that i asked the question... he said NO ONE EVER asks about who is administering the anesthesia... he said if he were having surgery or if a family memeber were having surgery, it would be one of the first things he would insist upon--having a doctor who was an anesthesiologist...

he said most certified nurses could do a fine job if things go smoothly... but if a complication arises, they would be lost quickly...

Yes she was. But maybe if somebody bothered to talk with her & explain that you don't need big boobs to be pretty or well liked she might be alive. I think before any cosmetic surgery is done on young women they ought to be sent to counseling. And even if she was 18 yrs old it still seems young to me to need to have bigger boobs unless she was as flat as a pancake. Prayers for her family.

Well Centurion 2000....I liked your synopsis more than any others.

Adored that bit about the Church of the Perpetually Outraged.

Especially appreciate your responding to the poster with the children with image issues. That poster really got under my skin.

Because you’re right, of course. I thought the Phantom fellows original remark was kind of clever. I wouldn’t have posted it because I too have been attacked by members of the Church of the Perpetually Outraged. Only other posters didn’t come to my defense so I sit in the pew good and proper and don’t risk the wrath of those who think themselves above everyone else when they launch into a rant of condemnation for something that would go almost unnoticed if they kept their keyboard silent.

But see, it makes them FEEL better to go up to the pulpit and preach to us fools who don’t know how to behave.

Yes, I snorted over the remark. Cause it WAS funny.

And sadly, the offhand but very clever remark HAD a moral to it, for those of us with brains.

Well then it’s our job to let posters know that some posts are unacceptable.

I do it and yes I see it most times.

Yea It’s just sad. I have a daughter and would climb over a mountain of broken glass to dissuade her from NEEDLESS surgery like this. She was a very cute woman.

“I think before any cosmetic surgery is done on young women they ought to be sent to counseling.”

And boys who think big chests are the only thing that’s important when choosing a girl to date need it too.

“Another victim of the culture war.”

Women (and men to a lesser degree) have been using whatever means available to change and improve their bodies and faces for many, many centuries. I bet you’ll find Freepers who have had plastic surgery.

I think its very sad. I remember hating high school because I had too big of a chest & my parents told me to be happy with what I had. They wouldn’t have gone along with any breast reduction idea thats for sure. Nor paid for it. Now I am quite happy with my chest.

And what kind of doctor would do breast augmentation on an 18-year-old girl? Everything I’ve read about it says that a woman’s body can keep changing a bit into her 20’s, so most respectable doctors won’t give boob jobs (except reductions in extreme cases) on girls that young, even if they are legally adults. As in, if this girl had just waited a couple years to see what would happen, she might not have wanted or needed the surgery after all. I’m a bit older than she is, and I know that push-up and padded bras would have been a better, cheaper, and safer option.

And yes, many girls today have self-esteem low enough that surgery is one of the healthier options for altering their bodies... they’ll literally starve themselves to death because they think it’ll make them ‘pretty’ (although why they think anyone who looks like some starving refugee in makeup and designer clothes is ‘pretty’ is way beyond me).
