Same here. Just one thing. The Tigers of the University of Memphis are waiting to see which on of them want to be their last victim of the year.

Well at least UNC started to score, I was feeling a little sorry for them.

We’re watching it. Yes, it’s awesome. GO HAWKS still have 20 minutes to play and our boys are getting tired.

I am guessing foul troubles more than being tired is what slowed the game down, Kansas has the deepest bench in all of college basketball and can rotate anybody in at anytime and not lose a beat.

I was watching it, but Billy Packer screamed that the game was over so I tuned in The Magnificent Seven.

LOL, Billy Packer is an idiot, heck he might have cursed KU by the statement.

Calipari is a great college coach. Couldn’t control those NY Knicks.

Don't know about the Knicks. However, Coach Cal can control the Tigers. He's done a masterful job this year.
Just one more to go.

Lived in Amherst, Mass. during the l980’s and early 1990’s when Calipari was the coach at UMASS. He and his family brought every player on the team into their home every single day and night. They were one unit, consistently and constantly. One heck of a team they built together. Perhaps the Calipari’s are doing the same thing in Memphis.

I like Calipari, even when he tried his hand at the NBA with the Nets (he would have done fine IMHO given enough time).

I’ll be satisfied if Memphis wins. They’ve been the best team all year.

I’d prefer Memphis, but as long as college basketball’s version of the Evil Empire is vanquished, it’s all good.

Well, KU by 15 with 2 minutes left.

Should be a really good finals.

Kansas by 5.

Memphis by 5.

No idea who will win. Memphis has more big stars but Kansas has a better team.

Sure, I give KU lotsa love for tonight, and I much prefer Self to that smarmy Roy-boy...didn’t like Roy at KU either.

Come to think of it, KU beating Oklahoma 20 years ago sucked.

But tonight, ROCK CHALK JAYHAWK!

Memphis should wear white Monday night. They’ve only lost one game this year. That should count for something.

They will, they were the #2 national seed going into the tourney.

When the NCAA sets up the tourney, after screwing Arizona State (sorry, had to put that in there), they seed the top 4 teams, so if they all make it to the Final Four, as it happened this year, #1 would play #4, #2 would play #3.

The seeds were UNC, Memphis, UCLA, Kansas, in that order.

So the Tigers will wear white, and hopefully get record win #39 Monday.

I’m still happy that UNC got bounced. Can’t stand ‘em.

JUST WOW!

That’s about right. Most impressive win by KU, after surviving thd UNC runs. I don’t think anyone could have expected a 40-12 lead, or that UNC could play that bad.

Memphis poses a big problem for KU. They may have the star players, but Memphis has the athletes and can run step-for-step with the Hawks.

If Memphis keeps hitting free throws, they win a close game. Should be up and down type game, just like the UNC game was.

Billy Packer. Now there is an angry old man.

He wasn’t always like this. Remember when Packer, Dick Enberg and Al McGuire worked games in the 70’s-early 80’s? That was something to look forward to.

Coach John Calipari better really cross his fingers and hope that the right players are at “charity stripe” Monday night. The last thing he wants is to prove the pundits right because Memphis’ free-throw shooting went south at the worst time possible....

Thanks Liz for the thread. The most frustrating thing is that the lead story on the national scene is not KU’s incredible game but the fact that UNC lost. Typical of the coverage Kansas gets.

....Yep, the best crew ever...with better telecasts too....the games now are bloated with interuptions....this year the Regionals were the worst yet....4 minutes(if you’re lucky) of basketball followed by 3 minutes of beer and prostate commercials...I wrote Miles Brand at the NCAA and told him that if he didn’t get control of the game, the suits at CBS would kill it...and I’m right about that too.

You got your wish...Kansas wins!

And a timeout call again looms large...this time, for the timeout had, 3 of them in fact, and not called at the end of regulation by Calipari, the opposite of Chris Webber calling a timeout that he didn’t have...

Congratulations Jayhawks, from a Bruins fan that is smiling from ear to ear. And this, 20 years after winning the 1988 title with now-assistant coach Danny Manning!
