Pacman heading to Dallas

Irving, TX (Sports Network) - The Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans have agreed in principle on a trade for suspended cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, though terms of the deal are unknown as of yet.

According to the Titans, final details are still to be worked out prior to the draft and Jones must pass a physical before the trade will be finalized.

The teams were rumored to have first discussed a trade more than a month ago. As late as Tuesday, however, the Cowboys were pessimistic on the prospect of a deal getting done.

Jones was suspended for the entire 2007 season by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell for numerous run-ins with the law in just two NFL seasons, including some type of alleged involvement in a shooting at a Las Vegas strip club during the NBA's All-Star weekend in February. That incident left an employee of the club paralyzed from the waist down.

Since entering the NFL, Jones has been questioned by police 10 times and has been arrested five times.

Goodell has said he will review a possible reinstatement for Jones before training camp opens in July.

In two NFL seasons, Jones has totaled 22 passes defensed and four interceptions -- including one for a touchdown. The West Virginia product also has four career punt returns for TDs, and has amassed 1,648 yards on kickoff returns.

Good luck Cowboys! Pac Man will have one good season before he caps another innocent bystander, then it’s jail.

There is only One strip club in Dallas. Of course it's Six miles long. Three miles wide and the neon sign can be seen from Earth orbit. But other than that....

Its just a one year deal.

and I don’t like it. I would rather pick up DBs in the draft. With Ellis back mirroring Ware, the DBs can go back to be unexposed for the most part.

His name is "Adam." Not sure where the stupid "Pacman" came from. Either way ... this is a stupid move by J.Jones. This experiment is going to fail miserably. The only other person supporting this is Deion Sanders ... no current player seems to be on board with it and are getting tired of being asked about it.

Hopefully, Goodell won't reinstate him.

The Cowboys won their SBs with plenty of guys with less than stellar character. Leon Lett, Michael Irvin, Nate Newton, Larry Allan, Sanders, etc.

Football is a bad man’s game.

Have you seen "Pacman's" long list of trouble with the law? I don't recall any of the names you listed being in that much trouble during their career (mostly after).

April 2005 – Mr. Jones' name appears on a police report after a fight at an Atlanta strip club breaks out, but the woman involved does not pursue the case.

June 2005 –Two of Mr. Jones' friends would not leave their room at a Nashville, Tenn., hotel after checkout time, prompting police to arrive. Marijuana is found on a table, but Mr. Jones' friends take full responsibility for the drugs.

July 2005 –Mr. Jones is arrested on two counts of misdemeanor assault and a felony count of vandalism after an incident at a Nashville nightclub, but charges are later dismissed.

February 2006 –Mr. Jones is arrested in Fayetteville, Ga., and charged with possession of marijuana. Police add felony counts of obstruction and two misdemeanors of obstructing police after throwing a punch at an officer. The drug charge is dismissed in January 2007. He received three years' probation for the other charges.

March 2006 –A drug task force team serves a search warrant at the home Mr. Jones bought for his mother. An investigator notices Mr. Jones' car smells of marijuana, and Mr. Jones admits that he had been smoking.

April 2006 –A vehicle registered to Mr. Jones is involved in drug trafficking. Mr. Jones had repurchased the car at an auction. Three days later, Mr. Jones is at the scene of a gunshot altercation outside a Nashville gas station.

August 2006 –Mr. Jones is charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct outside Sweetwater Saloon in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Charges were later dismissed.

October 2006 –After being accused of spitting in the face of a woman at a Nashville nightclub, Mr. Jones is cited on a misdemeanor assault charge. The charge is later dismissed.

February 2007 –Las Vegas police allege Mr. Jones started a melee inside a club when he threw cash on a stage. Three people are wounded by gunshots, and one is paralyzed. Mr. Jones pleads guilty to misdemeanor charges in return for testimony about the shootings.

January –A woman seeks an arrest warrant against Mr. Jones after an incident at an Atlanta strip club, but she later withdraws the petition. Mr. Jones loses permission to work out at the Titans' facility.

April –A report surfaces that Mr. Jones paid $15,000 in "extortion" money to Arvin Kenti Edwards, who was charged with attempted murder for shootings stemming from an altercation outside a Las Vegas strip club where Mr. Jones was present.

He may be a good player, but it's not worth the trouble. Example ... Ricky Williams.

BTW going to see Clooney's Leatherheads... at 1:35 (We Seniors get in for $2.25, so Clooney will only get about 3 cents from my ticket.) Will review when I return this evening.

My Boys look like they did good in their draft: RB Felix Jones, CB Mike Jenkins, TE Martellus Bennett & RB Tashard Choice. These all fill what few holes there are.

Not sure what these guys do for the Pack: WR Jordy Nelson, QB Brian Brohm, CB Patrick Lee (...he doesn't open his hips as well as some of the other corners... Cuz Pat, what you doing???), UT TE Jermichael Finley and DE Jeremy Thompson?

And as for the 18-1 Pats, not sure of these guys either: OLB Jerod Mayo, CB Terrence Wheatley, OLB Shawn Crable & QB Kevin O'Connell?

Please advise???

No way a cream puff like Phillips can handle this guy. That’s Jerry though - headlines mean all.

They are calling Jerry’s draft picks “safe”, but he did some gambling by signing Tank and Pac. Took a risk on TO as well, but I believe that was a good move.

Nelson be good...Pack always drafts receivers..best available...Brohm could be the best QB in the draft and I suspect that the Pack are not so sure that Rodgers can do the job..heck how many teams go from one long term QB right into another? Finley I don’t know about..but I do know TE was a weakness last season and their offensive system needs effective TE play and they cut Bubba Franks...Lee and Thompson...depth..They did pretty well considering they went to the NFC championship game, hence low in draft order.

As for the Pats...they are getting elderly at LB and Mayo is a versatile LB with strong leadership skills as is Crable (very underrated)..Wheatley...another body at corner... O’Connell...never heard of him..but he is Irish as am I. Pats always seem to end up with a gem from the later rounds...will be interesting to see if they continue that trend.

Re: ...but I believe that was a good move.

From what I have read about the trade, Jerry got a pretty good deal money & cap wise, plus if Pacman keeps his nose clean and plays up to his potential a win-win! And if he doesn't get cleared to play or goes back to his strip club ways, Tennessee pays back draft picks.

Look, Jerry Jones is a lot of things, most of which I don't care for, but I've got to give the devil his dues, he will go that extra mile to help the team.

Those who hate Jerry Jones for 'firing' The Immortal Tom will always hate him no matter what. Had he and Jimmy not had their spat, the Boys had a good chance to win 4 or 5 Super Bowls in a row. Even had they done that, there are those who will never forgive Landry's firing.

Those who say 'NO WAY' should recall that if that stumble bum Switzer could go 12-4 in '94 and win a Lombardi Trophy in '95 and go 10-6 winning the East in '96, you just know Jimmy would have done better in coaching and drafting in '94-'96!
