The mainstream media need to get their heads out of their backsides. Seriously.
If the national media is supposed to be liberal, its sure not doing much for liberal causes. At least thats the opinion of this registered Democrat.
Most Americans, the average kind who work long hours trying to feed their families, pay their mortgages and fuel their vehicles, dont have the time to surf the Internet ad nauseam in pursuit of information about the candidates for president. Instead, they rely on the ABCs, CNNs and assorted major wire services to do that job for them.
Unfortunately, the major news outlets arent doing a very good job, that is, unless youre the type of voter looking for softballs to be thrown John McCains way and relishing in the coverage of the dirty, protracted and ultimately party-fracturing dogfights between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.
The liberal medias priorities are out of whack. While they focus their sights on the bloody battle for the Democratic nomination, Republican Party lock McCain is getting a free pass as he dodders around the country looking nothing like the beloved moderate John McCain of 2000.
McCain was a pretty appealing character in his first go-round for president. But those moderate stances are all but history, as he pimps himself out in an effort to appeal to the lunatic fringe of the Republican Party.
Issues he has stood for that made him a palatable candidate for voters who dont carry a rifle on a rack in their pickup or have a copy of the Bible in their glove box are things he has turned his back on this time out.
This is a man who cannot raise his arms above his shoulders because they were broken so badly while he was being tortured as a prisoner of war, yet in February he endorsed torture with his vote against the Intelligence Authorization Act of 2008, which would have held intelligence agencies to the same standards as the military, meaning no torture. It was a move counter to the rest of his career in public office.
This guys out of control and dishonest.
McCain would keep the U.S. in Iraq for 100, 1,000 and 10,000 years, hes reversed course on tax cuts and voted against the only sensible, meaningful piece of immigration reform legislation to come through the Senate and he co-authored it.
Since announcing his bid for president, he has done nothing but move closer to the right whether it is what he really believes or not; his record doesnt reflect that in an obvious attempt to cuddle up to George Bushs core constituency.
But its not just the media making President McCain more of a possibility with each passing day, its also the Democratic Party itself, a seemingly self-loathing lot shooting and subverting itself at every turn.
Even with the help of ABC, that smug Charlie Gibson and former Bill Clinton defacto press secretary George Stephanopoulus, Hillary Clinton hasnt been able to overcome Barack Obama in delegates and verbally pledged superdelegates.
As moderators of the primetime Pennsylvania debate on ABC, Gibson and Stephanopoulus served up home runs for Clinton and came off as rude, snarky and petty against Obama, delving into the nasty and the baseless rather than the substantive issues. Score for Hillary.
Sure, this is all one-sided, too; youre reading a column from an Obama supporter. But more important, youre reading a column from a Democrat fearful that the infighting, vindictiveness and pride of Clinton and Obama (mostly Hillary) will ultimately drive the record number of primary Democratic voters to stay home in November, giving us four more years of the GOP.
This is a sad time for the Democrats, who last summer looked like they were assured the White House.
Former Clinton allies are not turning on her because they dont like her. Theyre turning on her because shes damaging the party. Clinton friend and former national chairman of the Democratic Central Committee, Joseph J. Andrew, recently put his eggs in Obamas basket in a cry for party unity. He and others like the vocal Howard Dean know the Democrats are just playing into the GOPs hands with this protracted process.
Clinton is behind, shes not going to catch up and she needs to drop out.
Meanwhile, the liberal media needs to start acting liberal and ramp up their coverage of McCain, the former commonsense good guy who has now morphed into the worst kind of vacillating politician who has been blinded by the stars in his eyes.
Translation: most Democrats believe the bull the msm spoon-feeds them.
Most Americans, the average kind who work long hours trying to feed their families, pay their mortgages and fuel their vehicles
>>> he’s obviously referring to Republicans who prefer to be productive with their lives..they also generally post on Free Republic

You are so right, however I would classify these voters as airheads.
This guy sounds really "bitter". I wonder what he's "clinging" to?
You forgot to put the triple barf bag alert on this...
To quote Ronald Wilson Reagan’s quote: It doesn’t matter who gets the credit when the right thing gets done.
Comment:
May a thousand porcupines crawl into my shorts....LOL
Not only is he a self confessed left wing whacker Democrat but from what I have read in the past, may be extremely light in the panties.
Note the immediate ding against guns and the Bible. This Obamoron couldn’t resist echoing Obambi’s idiotic comment about bitter white people in small towns.
Once Operation Chaos gets Hillary elected president, what will the new mission be?
As a proud member of the LF, I must point out that it isn't working.
The only thing appealing about him is that he isn't Obama or Clinton. Oh, and his general stance on the war, which has been perhaps the most consistent of any politician in America.
hooray for operation chaos! and the Rinnai tank less water heater.
However, your exactly correct he is still an OBAMORON.
Courtesy Reply:
I am with you but then again we have to be brave and fight dirty as do the left wing wacko nut jobs.
I believe El Rushbo has some inside information or he would not be pushing this Operation Chaos so strongly, I HOPE AND PRAY TO GOD THAT HE DOES.
ain’t it fun................
And why does Guam have FIVE superdelegates but only FOUR elected delegates? This whole process seems like sh** for the birds.
if anyone questioned the liberal mindset’s stereotype of conservative Republicans, this character and Obama set it straight. Apparently ConservativeRepublican-Americans are the only group that can be profiled.
what parallel universe does this dweeb live in?
But those moderate stances are all but history, as he pimps himself out in an effort to appeal to the lunatic fringe of the Republican Party.
O.M.F.G.
This man is not just a leftist, he’s delusional as well. He must think of Barak and Hitlery as moderates.
He’s also very light in the pantalones.

Hey, did not know that, thanks for the information.
I dig his show and all, but seriously.

I don't have the foggiest idea as to why we ended up with McCain.
The Republican nominating process seems like it was a few years ago and McCain has been the candidate for a couple of years.
“why did he not mount a real operation chaos to produce an acceptable Republican candidate?”
Comment: Beats the hell out of me, Maybe El Rushbo is a closet McCain supporter...LOL.
Some freeper wrote yesterday that they wished we had the same dragged-out, protracted, wacko-rules-infused primary process the rats have, and I agree.
Maybe we should look at that. This way, we can push or pull our best of breed through to our convention, instead of him being whacked and interred in February.
They don’t have time I because they’re too busy snorting coke, smoking dope, or watching the tube for hours on end. The whole premise is ridiculous. Most Dems I know have plenty of time to surf the web. Everything this idiot states in this article is a pile of bovine manure.
Talk about out of touch. This guy lives in a galaxy where the media isn’t all that liberal, and McCain is reaching out to conservatives.
Sounds like a cool place, actually. I’d like to visit sometime.
“This is a sad time for the Democrats, who last summer looked like they were assured the White House.”....
OH sooooo sad indeed!....
“Issues he has stood for that made him a palatable candidate for voters who dont carry a rifle on a rack in their pickup or have a copy of the Bible in their glove box are things he has turned his back on this time out.”
I couldn’t get past this line. How did he know I have a copy of the Bible in my glove box? I mean, what else would I have? Gloves?
McCain was a pretty appealing character in his first go-round for president. But those moderate stances are all but history, as he pimps himself out in an effort to appeal to the lunatic fringe of the Republican Party.Uh, I think that *may* be referring to us.
