NASHUA, N.H.A woman accused of running down a man in her car after a Red Sox-Yankees argument in a bar never hit her brakes as she accelerated toward the small group he was in, a prosecutor said Monday. more stories like this "She never braked, and she accelerated at a high speed for about 200 feet. She went directly at this group of people," prosecutor Susan Morrell said of Ivonne Hernandez, who is charged with reckless second-degree murder in the death early Friday of Matthew Beaudoin, 29. Authorities won't describe the argument beforehand in Slade's Food & Spirits, but witnesses said it heated up when Hernandez identified herself as a New York Yankees fan. Like the rest of New Hampshire, Nashua, 45 miles northwest of Boston, is Red Sox country. Bartender Tanya Moran said the argument spilled outside, and at least one person in a group that included Beaudoin began chanting "Yankees suck!" when they saw a Yankees sticker on Hernandez's car. Hernandez, 43, allegedly gunned her car and struck Beaudoin and his friend Maria Hughes, 21. Hughes had only minor injuries, which Beaudoin's sister Faith said was because her brother shielded his friend. Hernandez, of Nashua, was arrested at the scene. She acknowledged she had been drinking and refused to take a breath-alcohol test, said Morrell, a senior assistant attorney general. Hernandez said she had been in an argument with the group. "She indicated to police that she wanted to scare this group of people. She thought they would get out of the way," Morrell said. Hernandez was ordered held without bail after being arraigned Monday in Nashua District Court. The charges, including aggravated drunken driving, are felonies, so Hernandez could not enter a plea. Her public defender, James Quay, did not immediately return a call seeking comment.

THERE’S NO KILLING IN BASEBALL!!!..........
She’s 43 yrs old and not some drunken kid. What a loser!
“Ivonne Hernandez”
Illegal?
Is she a brit soccer fan too?
It would seem that to some, everyone with a Spanish surname in illegal.

Ivonne Hernandez, 43, was charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of Matthew Beaudoin, 29.
She’d certainly qualify......
Prosecutors say she was drunk when she drove her car though the Nashua City Hall parking lot and ran down two people early Friday morning, moments after exchanging words with them about the Yankees and Red Sox.
Prosecutors said she has a past conviction of receiving stolen property in 2005. She was given a suspended sentence.

Beaudoin came to the bar regularly to socialize, sing karaoke and have fun
"He came to hang out. He didn't really drink much,"
Prosecutors say Hernandez told police she had four beers shortly before getting into the argument and that the confrontation upset her so much she drove her car toward the crowd hoping to scare them. She allegedly told officers she thought they would be smart enough to get out of the way.
That bar is pretty good place too. This just proves that Yankee fans, do indeed, suck.
I dont know where she got the running start of 200ft from...that Bar is right at a corner of Main St in a high traffic area.
Either way, they should ban cars.
Lately, it seems that 90% of those who strike others with vehicles (and kill them) while highly intoxicated are in the country illegally.
Query for all lawyers..will the prosecutor seek a change of venue...like the Bronx?
According to people at the scene, "Even after the accident occured she got out of the car and punched one of the other girls in the face".
To the tune of Hank Jr's Family Tradition:
If I get stoned I'm just carryin' on
An old
Yankee tradition!
(Steve Howe, Billy Martin, Darryl Strawberry & other Yankee substance abusers...)
C'mon Havok. I hate the Yankee$ as much as any good American, but they aren't all cold blooded killers. That's the best I can say for them, though.
What “accident?”
And here’s how she responded:
>>”She indicated to police that she wanted to scare this group of people. She thought they would get out of the way,” Morrell said. “She never braked, and she accelerated at a high speed for about 200 feet. She went directly at this group of people.”
To paraphrase a line from Garth Brooks’ “Papa Loved Mama”,
“(S)he never hit the brakes and (s)he was shiftin’ gears...”
They sure do suck. lat I saw they had won 39 league championships and 26 World Series.
Now wouldn’t every sports fan on the planet love to have their home team “suck” like the NYY?
Jealousy is an emotion of the weak.
you are talking about the franchise
this year’s Yankee team has nothing in common with all those championship years other than the uniforms look similar
Ugly and Yankee fan.
Get the chair warmed up.
The Pirates could have purchased a bunch of new talent & what did they spend their money on???? A new stadium.
They'd rather get the sure money from corporate boxes then roll the dice on better players for a run at the WS.
That's fact.
Killed someone over hyped and overpaid corporate profesional sports?
WTF?
If I was in Massachusetts, the last thing I would want to do is go into a bar like that and start shooting my mouth off that I was a Yankee fan. I mean thats just common sense. Obviously that woman has 0 of it.
So what’s your point?
Hmmm, let's see. The NYY have broken no rules. To use as an excuse they win because they spend there own money to get the better players is nonsense. The other side of the coin is they PAY more to the smaller teams in revenue sharing then any other 2 teams combined pay. They are not only the most successful franchise in the history of sports as far as wins, they are the most successful franchise in sports history as far as earnings. Steinbrenner has taken a club he purchased for $10,000,000 in the early 70's and turned it into a $1,500,000,000 colossus. Yankee bashing is a tradition in America but all of it is born of pure jealousy.
As far as I know they are the only team whose players, while traveling wear suits a ties. They do not have beards and all haircuts are conventional. This is not something that wins or loses games but it does speak to the professionalism of the franchise and the players.
You got Spitzer and Bloomberg, we have Coupe Duval and Mummbles, I hate to say it you guys are slightly ahead on the stupidity scale, the White Cane is yet to be factored in.
But then again you have Hitlery and we have Fat Boy.
How is the “Coupe” doing up there? My pal who lives on the Cape says his approval ratings are in the low 30’s and he is frantically looking for ways to raise taxes there even more to fund all his give away programs.
Don’t forget Bawney Fwank.
as a diehard Red Sox fan since 1967(NESN rules) I am well aware of what you say
that said the Yankees aren’t near championship caliber this year
Damn Yankee fans! Within my very own family there are a few of them running around. They are missing chromosomes. Ok, I’m just kidding...sort of.
Gets old, doesn’t it? One of the tenets of conservatism is the importance of the individual, yet so many here would rather take the easy, and often leftist, way of refusing that important conservative ideal.
How many illegals are Yankee fans to the point of killing?

Now the RS pitching, there supposed strong suit has, with the exception of Dice-k been very very ordinary and despite being a physically sound team have won 3 games more then NY.
No one knowledgeable of baseball can claim the NYY don't have the tools to win it all. It doesn't mean the will of course because the season is a long and difficult race and injuries play a big part in determining who comes out on top.
That said the RS have a long, long history of starting out like a house on fire each year and fading badly after June while the NYY do exactly the opposite.
We shall see.
Who was the previous pervert? I know who the previous Gov was but wasn’t aware he was a pervert, is that the Gov you are referring to?
Just kind of linking the booze and substance abuse of Yankees players to this Yankee fan. In today’s papers around here it mentioned how the poor man’s head went through her windshield
and imprints of his legs were on her hood. “She thought they’d get out of the way”. That’s what booze’ll do to one’s
judgement...
Curse of Hillary. They may never win again.
Now the word is the Sox-Yanks rivalry may NOT have been
the root cause of the argument.
