HOUSTON -- Police have charged three suspects accused of using the skull of a corpse buried in a Kingwood cemetery to make a bong.
Kevin Wade Jones, 17, Matthew Richard Gonzalez, 17, and a 16-year-old boy were all charged with one count of desecrating a corpse. The suspects are accused of digging up the skull of an 11-year-old boy buried in a cemetery for African American war veterans and using it to smoke marijuana.

boy died Sept. 11, 1921 I think it's clear the deceased boy was not a veteran. Guess the sentence should read cemetery also for African American war veterans

An AP account:
The grave belonged to Willie Simms, according to court documents. Chomiak said that Simms' next-of-kin had not been notified. While residents in the area knew of the cemetery's existence, it did not appear to be maintained. Preliminary reports indicated it was a 19th-century "veterans" cemetery, he said.

You said it! And how did they know the kid was buried there, and isn't it a bit of work to disinter a body: dig up the grave, remove the coffin, etc., etc. Didn't anybody notice?? You know, like visitors to the cemetery, or people driving by, or the cemetery caretaker(s)?

Hey! I resent that generalization. Any goth worth his salt would have used his own skull ... how he’d pull that off I’m not completely sure but that’s not the point.
Regardless hang the bastards.

Very economical. Have you any idea how much it costs for a decent bong these days?! Outrageous!

Somehow, smoking pot out of somebody’s skull just isn’t as badass as drinking wine out of it.

Not if he died at age 11 in 1921 ;). Perhaps his father was a veteran; a lot of military cemeteries will bury unmarried children along with spouses and the vets themselves.

You could try being liquidated! From the article: "Now a new option is generating interest dissolving bodies in lye and flushing the brownish, syrupy residue down the drain."
Nice.
I can see it now, "So where is Grandpa buried?"
"Nowhere, they just poured him down the drain."
