WINDSOR The eldest grandson of the Queen married his Canadian fiancee Saturday in a private ceremony at Windsor Castle.
The bride was whisked to the castle's 15th-century St. George's Chapel in a state Bentley, and stepped out wearing a tiara lent to her by her mother-in-law, Princess Anne. Kelly was led up the rain-stained steps of the chapel by her father Brian, her flowing white train held up by bridesmaids in light green dresses, including Peter's sister Zara Phillips.
She emerged Phillip's wife, clutching a bouquet of white flowers as she and her husband got into a tartan-lined carriage drawn by two Windsor greys.
The wedding took place in front of 300 guests including the Queen, Prince Philip and Prince Charles as well as about 70 people who travelled over from Canada. Prince William is attending another wedding in Kenya, but his girlfriend Kate Middleton was expected to be on hand. So were Prince Harry and his girlfriend, Chelsy Davy.
Phillips the son of Princess Anne and 11th in line to the throne met Kelly in 2003, when both were working at the Montreal Grand Prix. Phillips did not immediately reveal he was a royal Kelly later said she made the discovery when she spotted her husband-to-be in a program about Prince William.
The couple, both 30, have spent the past two years living in west London. Phillips now looks after the Royal Bank of Scotland's motor racing sponsorship while Kelly, a graduate of Canada's McGill University, is a personal assistant to broadcaster Sir Michael Parkinson.
They announced their engagement last year.
Kelly renounced her Roman Catholic faith and joined the Church of England to marry Phillips. Under centuries-old British law, a royal who marries a Catholic cannot take the throne.
Phillips is among the most low-profile members of the Royal Family, and neither he nor his sister Zara undertake official royal duties. However Phillips and Kelly raised eyebrows in some quarters by agreeing to sell the story of their nuptials to the celebrity magazine Hello! for a sum reported at up to $1 million.

I submit that owning 5 pairs of shoes is not as important as catching a prince.
Depending on what your priorities are, of course.
;-)
‘He’s inbred, but he’s rich.’
No comment.
what a nice looking couple. I wish them well & the more they can distance their lives from the royal family, their chances of a successful marriage will improve if history over the past couple decades is to be observed
You want to ask, how important was it in the first place?
Right?
Me too.
She seems to have a Hapsburg Chin herself.
No, what came to mind involved 30 pieces of silver.

Autumn Kelly (C) arrives for her wedding to Peter Phillips at the St George's Chapel in Windsor, southern England on May 17, 2008.
One of the dumbest photo head lines ever. (C)?. Like who else wears a white gown with train at a wedding?
Good link. Thanks. That chin does protrude far enough IMO. Gold diggers have depths that they will go to. I wish this couple well. Peace, happiness and healthy formed children.
Yes, that too.
Why does Camilla insist on wearing those Feathered hurricane hat-do’s? Makes her look like she’ll take off at any minute.
LOL! Exactly! She sold out for the $$$
And those bridesmaid dresses remind me of the movie “27 Dresses”
“You can shorten them and wear them again! That’s so true”
Or as James Marsden said, “What color is that? Vomit?”
Babes can be real tough on each other.
Yeah, that was nasty wasn’t it. Sorry.
But his other quote was, “The Bride didn’t want a beautiful woman standing next to her actually looking good.”
I’ve been in weddings where I felt we were put in ugly dresses for that purpose. The Bride was beautiful but wanted to keep it that way.
I wonder if she deliberately modeled her bouquet after Princess Diana's. It's so similar.
My first thought was “Prom circa 1986”.
>>My first thought was Prom circa 1986.<<
Celery, right?
Similar???? We must be looking at different photos. Dianas was VERY BUSY while this one is simple and elegant. The attendant’s dresses are beautiful and a beautiful shade of green. I think it was quite nice.
LOL
Looks like identical flower choices to me and while Diana’s was fuller, they are similar in the cascading arrangement. I love both, by the way. I’ll pass on the bridesmaids dresses but the bride’s is gorgeous.
my thoughts..
the bridesmaids gowns are very nice. sea foam green for color?
I can see other uses for them.. I have a couple like that I wear to formal events/benefits etc
I think the bride’s gown is gorgeous.. as is her tiara & floral arrangement.
Camilla has flair & I think it is good she doesn’t feel she has to be in some “royalty” dress code mode. Maybe it is her “little rebellion” .. who knows.
The queen looks great for her age.. still too matronly.. a little updating of hair & clothes & she would even look younger. She has good skin
I hate the bride’s dress, I thought it was bad from the front, then they showed the back. But I do like the color of the bridesmaids dresses. And I think the style is simple and elegant. The bride should have gone with a similar style.
Camilla’s hat looks like it’s ready to take off!
OMG! A butterfly forest landed on her head!
Hmmmmmm....Beatrice does not at all resemble anyone in the royal family.
Wouldn’t it be hard to wear one-side hat like that?

You’re right!
I had forgotten what the prince looks like.
Lovely couple...Wish the well!
I’m surprised how much Phillip’s profile resembles that of Prince William. I always assumed Wills got that nose and chin from Diana.
They’re calling it celadon now, but it’s still celery to me.
i thought the exact same thing. I had to look at the picture twice to make sure it wasn’t William.
beautiful wedding, btw.
God bless the newlyweds!
I just painted a bedroom that color, it looks great with black furniture.
I love the Bride’s dress too. The Bridesmaids dresses are gorgeous. strapless and simple flowing. What don’t you like about them? Even the color is unusual but subtle.
Celadon. That’s right. I saw a beautiful vase in Celadon. It was striking. I think celery is a brighter green.
I guess the color is actually okay — and looking at them again, I do like the style of the younger girls’ dresses. The older girls’ strapless) just look ... well, too “bridesmaidy” for me. Or like I said, like a prom dress. They even tie in the back, ugh. I don’t know, they just aren’t too my liking.
too my liking = to my liking
A deer in a cars headlights.
It’s OK...I’m not here to look at spelling :)
I know Bridesmaid dresses have taken a hit over the years but...these look elegant and simple... unlike some of the balloon things we have seen in the past. It was a formal wedding and I thought they were appropriate. I don’t know..maybe just me. :)
This style was not a great choice for the women in this wedding party.
Well, we have to agree to disagree but that’s OK. :) I DO agree strapless should be a nice, clean look. If it is not it can look cheap and tasteless. However, I thought these ladies all looked nice. But...I hope the bride and groom live their lives the way they want and don’t get caught up in all that phony baloney stuff of the royals.
