Just a personal 'Thank You', to the Powers That Be, at USA Network, who are about to save me some $48 DL fees, by running two NCIS "marathons" this weekend on Friday and Monday...24 total episodes, 12 each day, of episodes I haven't watched yet. All ready set up to watch/record them. >8o)
Any chance at a copy?

and
Sorry, I’m afraid that wouldn’t be feasible with my equipment.
Bummer.
Me too. I love the women. Just got into the show a few weeks back, and DLed about a dozen episodes with Amazon Unbox, but it was beginning to look like a pretty pricey prospect to get completely caught up at $1.98 and episode. And for some reason, Unbox doesn’t have the first season, but at least “Probie” doesn’t become a team member till the second episode off the second season...It’s sort of weird that they went from one episode with a female team member named “Karen”(?)
and the next episode,, without so much as a by your leave, to Ziva...no introduction, no departure explanation..just the new team member, like she’d allways been there...To use the cliched line...What’s *that* all about?
I love the first girl in that picture.
They went from “Kate” Todd, NCIS agent, to Ziva David, Mossad exchange officer...I would tell you how it happened, but don’t want to spoil it for you. IIRC, Kate Todd was with the show the first one or two seasons...
Athough Dr Donald Mallard always called her Caitlin.
They’ve had 3-4 of these marathons this spring. I was recording but not paying attention to the titles and some are repeats ... but, still glad to have them.
What did you think of last night’s 2 hour season finale?
Of course, Ducky is a proper British gentleman
It was amazing...totally unexpected twists...
Lots of surprises there! What did you think of the last scene, what the director did?
I am looking forward to the marathon!Love Mike. Abby is a hoot. And Ducky just makes me laugh. The interaction of all of the characters is great.
Frazzlerazzleshimmychnga! Life happened and I missed large partsd of it. I am hoping they will reprise it before the next season begins, as a “hook” to get viewers back into the show, as networks tend to do, with their high draw shows.
I *did* catch some of the cliffhanger ending, where it looks like everybody gets reassigned...
maybe i’ll get lucky and they’ll encore the season ender in a week or two, when they need something to fill in a two hour block of summer re-run time..
Oh...maybe I shouldn’ta said...
Sorry to anyone that was a spoiler for.
But thinking on it...It can’t really be a spoiler...it could go several ways from there...It’s not like it’s the end of the show forever...Maybe new/more cast members...different sets...One thing is certain...”Gibbs” will still be “there”..
I went and checked Amazon Unbox, and found that they already have the season ender Parts 1+2, as a single DL, ready for $1.99 purchase. I just started DLing it, to watch tomorrow. >Bo)..and without commercials even!
I had never been a big fan of “Boss” - but I just loved it recently when they replayed a whole bunch of the first programs - before “Daveed”.
I love this program - and I will do whatever it takes to be home on Tuesday nite to see it live.
The rest of TV is so boring ..??
What did you think of the ending of this season - where it seems the whole team is being split up ..?? I don’t want a new team .. I like the old one.
BTW: I am in no way associated with Amazon, as anyting other than a customer...and if you are thinking about following suit, and DLing any of their assorted shows/episodes, Know that while there is no service charge beyond what you pay for or rent....You better have a BROADBAND connection...To give you an idea, it takes about 1 hr 40 minutes, to DL a 44 minute episode, at 1440 kbps.
Well, i’m hoping that the “director” will be replaced, or “exposed” as a nefarious black hat, or they are actually being given “covers” and their “unit” is going covert to be re-assembled at a new facility...or Gibbs will perform some National Security “miracle” by relyying on old team members, and as a reward, gets to reactivate his unit...but who knows? Maybe a couple of the cast, want ‘out’, and this is a way to bring in several new cast members, in one fell swoop...Guess we have to wait.
But as far as all boriing TV...Burn Notice returns on June 10th I believe, and there are a few other promising shows coming up for the summer season...Don’t despair! :o)
I never despair over TV. I have so many great books I would like to read during the summer .. I’m seriously thinking of getting rid of my “extended cable” - because NCIS is on a local station - and if 24 returns - it will be on a local station also (I hope).
I have caught a couple of Burn Notice shows - but I came in late to the program so I couldn’t seem to get with the story. But .. I do like the lead character .. so maybe I’ll catch on if I start watching from the beginning of the new season.
I love ‘Law & Order’ and ‘CSI: Miami’, and crime shows in general, but the past two years of closely following the malicious prosecution of the Haditha Marines (as well as other US military cases from Iraq and Afghanistan) have revealed to me that the real NCIS is so dishonest and corrupt that I cannot bring myself to watch the TV show of the same name.
Do you know how large it is ... I have broadband but my system is elderly otherwise and if it’s too big, may be a problem.
Thanks.
It’s 1.65 Gigabytes..the season finale that is. Parts 1+2 together.
Thanks. Have to think about that - I only missed the first 15 minutes.
My stupid DVD recorder doesn’t always come on when I set it to record the digital channel - just freezes - and I forgot to check.
If I ask it to record the same show on analog - no problem. So assuming the digital sends a signal and at least for now the digital signal from CBS isn’t strong enough to “wake up” the tuner in my Panasonic recorder. It does fine on DirecTV but that isn’t asking it to change channels.
Still have an analog tv.
Going into all this detail in case someone else has the problem too. Am thinking I may need to actually manually tune to the digital channel before I turn the recorder off for time recordings. I’ll try that.
Just a couple more points for you to mull over:
While there is no membership or service fee to use Amazon Unbox, you *do* have to download their proprietary DL management software ( about 10 to 15 mb i think ) It manages the DL process, and your DL library, and keeps track of deleting your movie “rentals”.
And if you *do* decide to use the service for other shows or movies, It’s much easier to go through the ordering process, if you are a registereed ‘One Click’ customer, so you don’t have to fill out your CC data every time you want to DL a show or a movie.
I find the way I like to do it, is to buy and send to the DL Que the shows I want, right before bedtime, and then let them DL while i’m sleeping. Saves the grief of a “watched screen”, and doesn’t interfere with my awake time bandwidth.
Man! Maybe Amazon *should* be paying me! >;O)

Kinda cute, but she doesn’t “do it for me” in the same way that Amy Winehouse does (see my tagline).
Thanks for the details!
So, the $1.99 is a rental for what - one play? Can’t put on a DVD either I guess?
LOL! - Amy Winehouse is an amazing artist and puts cool back into R&B with her music but she’s too weird for me ;o)
I enjoy watching “Law & Order” and “NCIS” on USA Network, but I cannot stand those graphics that pop up in the lower corner of the screen, promoting the next program. Is it just me?
We’ve been watching NCIS all season on our computer because our children usually want to watch American Idol. Also, the episodes are usually available On Demand for a short period of time.
Thanks for the alert of the double marathon. Hubby is usually hard at work most weekends (on the computer—he’s a programmer), but we have managed to get him to take a break twice in the last few months when USA has had NCIS marathons. We never watched the show until earlier this year. It’s enjoyable to catch up on the whole storyline without having to buy the DVDs.
Hubby was so bothered by the season ender the other night that he wants to watch it again. I’m more patient. Who knows what the producers/writers have in mind for the next season?
Nope. the $1.99 is a purchase. You can watch it as many times as you want, for as long as you want. But they do have other programs/movies that are time limited.
The Unbox software includes a burn engine, and the software allows for “portable versions” to be DLed...So I suppose they *can* be burnt to DVDs, but I haven’t done so myself.

I really like this show too. I was considering buying it from Amazon, but I've seen most of the episodes because of the marathons. I also like 'The Closer' and 'Monk.'
‘Bones’ is one of my other favorites..and ‘Amsterdam’ is ok in my book.
Never heard of 'Amsterdam.' Where and when is it on?
I have in excess of twenty NCIS episodes on the recorder from a recent USA marathon..
I learned that recording all episodes of a series allowed a new experience in that a better feel for character development and interaction is possible. My first experience was with Homicide, Life on the Street and it is also true for NCIS.
But mostly, I get to see Abby. She’s my girl.
‘Amsterdam’, just finished it’s first season on CBS(?) this spring. Unbox has it’s episodes up allready, in case your curious.
The over-arching plot line is about a 1600’s Dutch immigrant to the New York area, then known as new Amsterdam, being critically wounded protecting an indian female shaman, who
uses magic to heal him...in the process gives him the onerous gift of immortality, that can only end, by meeting his soul mate, and then he will be able to die.
Main setting: Present day New York, the main character, has lived many “lives” (ala Flint from Star Trek TOS) and is presently a NYPD detective, whose knowledge of NY history, and his past experiences, benefits his crime solving ability, as he deals with his children and acquaintances, from previous “lives”.
Correction: I think it was more likely a 1400s or 1500s immigrant. Early enough for there still to be a fair amount of indians in the state.
Thanks for the info about Amsterdam!
You’re welcome. I hope they renew it. Or USA Neetworks picks it up.
You know, IO remember when the best programming USA Networks had, was some gawd awful old cartoons that no one ever heard of before...Now, they have seemed to monopolized a good number of the best and even *first run*, shows on cable....
I’m looking forward for Monk’s return on USA in July...It will be interesting to see how Monk copes with his new therapist...
Monk is a good show. But I gotta admit I’m looking forward to Psych more. I wanna see if they re going to be able to keep the pace up. Do you watch ‘Chuck’? If you do, do you think they’ll be relocting him out of the BuyMore? I kinda wonder how they’l bee able to keep the plotlines as zany, without his :”co-workers”....Sorta like ‘Raymond’ without Robert..just wouldn’t be the same.
Monk with a new shrink!!! That's got to be cool. I can hardly wait also!!!
Never heard of it...When and where is it on?
I still smile when I remember Monk mailing his garbage to his shrink during the garbage strike.
‘Chuck’ is a zany SpyCom show, also just finished it’s first season on NBC this spring. Unbox has it.
Plotline: rising computer geek, gets toosed out of college by trumped up evidence given by supposed best friend who steals his girl as well....later, working as a “Geek Squad” repair tech, at a big box store, “chuck” gets sent an -E-mail” by his old friend. who is now a super spy, abnd that message has all of the US Secret Intel encoded into it, and it all gets zapped into “Chuck’s” brain..and now he’s the only one who has it, but he only “sees” any of it when something triggers a memory.
So he stays working at the BuyMore, with two agents “handling”/guarding him, and he is like the weak sister of a Covert Ops team.
I certainly did use the writerws strike to find some new shows, didn’t I? >8o)
I’ll have to check ‘Chuck’ out!
