Good morning. Welcome to the weekend thread.
Over here.
It's all down hill, from here.
Good Morning.
Congratulations to the new little family. And to the proud Auntie, too.
Good Morning to you.
Good Morning IC. Nice to ‘see’ you this morning.
I've already eaten breakfast (bacon/eggs/grits/toast), lysie, or I would be mightily tempted by that breakfast! Thanks anyway; it looks really good.
I'm off to get my 2nd mug of coffee, which scientists say helps one to live longer. I'm testing their findings. LOL
Good morning - toasted bagel and coffee for breakfast again.
Beautiful day in store for us today.
Today we are have our son's graduating party out at the park where I work. (A lodge rental.) The weather sounds like its going to be perfect.
I will work for a portion of the day before joining the festivities later on.
Saw the movie Bella last night. (My kids got it for me as a Father's Day gift.) If you haven't seen it I recommend it strongly. It is a very life affirming movie.
That breakfast looks delicious.
Whoops... I mean't to include you in the last post.
Okay this a.m., just disorganized...tomorrow will be better. LOL!
Morning Molly.
The Iraq facts are changing Michael Barone
Did y'all see that ridiculous seal Obama has adopted for his campaign?? the phony presidential seal???!! What a kook!
Have gotten on a reading kick, big time, reading everything I can find that looks interesting.
All this talk of those kids WANTING to get pregnant on the news, I can remember is a young girl in my young days go in ‘that way’ she would suddenly visit her kinfolks way away from our home town, sure has changed hasn't it.
Am asking for prayers as we go back to court on Kaleb next week, the kids want to adopt him so badly and I can't tell you the hold he has on this ole heart, please, keep us in prayer.
Just wanted to start my day off right and say howdy so, ‘howdy’, have a good and safe day.
Toby
Here's wishing you a good day today and every day AND a successful bid for that little fellow that is already so much a part of your family.
Thanks! Oh if ya’ll only knew how Kaleb has become part of this family and when it is all over we will be able to send pictures of both he and TJ. Sure is great to be a Paw Paw again for sure.
Remember when we use to pay 22 cents a gallon for gas?
Congratulations, UG.
I saw it Molly - Made me whince. Made me think “who in tarnation does he think he is?” But then, I’m just a typical WP.
That Obama seal makes me sick. He’s one scary person and so are the people who hang with him.
Since this is such a slow evening, I thought I’d post this:
The buzzword of this election is ‘CHANGE’. Candidates toss it around without saying what they want to change to.
Years ago, there was an old tale in the Marine Corps about a lieutenant who inspected his Marines and told the ‘Gunny’ that they smelled bad. The lieutenant suggested that they change their underwear.
The Gunny responded, ‘Aye,aye, sir, I’ll see to it immediately’ .
He went into the tent and said, ‘The lieutenant thinks you guys smell bad, and wants you to change your underwear. Smith, you change with Jones, McCarthy, you change with Witkowskie, Brown, you change with Schultz. Get to it’.
The moral: A candidate may promise change in Washington , but don’t count on things smelling any better.
Fight organized crime........Don’t re-elect anyone.
It was good to spend time with her.

How's Johnny doing?
Yes.... beer cans.
/johnny
How is Mozie and the family? Ev doing ok? Em?
/johnny
We are all doing quite well. Em is exceeding all expectations. Ev is doing great and has visited twice since school finished for the year. He has AT most of August so wants to come home as often as possible prior to that. And older son, Jake, just got a sort-of promotion at work and is happier with his new position. Hubby & I had a great vacation (South Dakota, Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, Badlands etc. etc. etc.) and are enjoying the summer so far. This morning we went to the Farmer's Market and got fresh strawberries, sugar snap peas, some Door County cherries and other delicacies.
Life is good at the moment. "Normal", you might say.:-)
Don't tell Ev..............
Yep. 98" wingspan glider. It's a lot of fiddly work and I go to bed with superglued fingers. But it keeps me off the streets.
Progress on it is slow, as emptying the beer cans makes focusing a problem. ;)
It's going to be a beauty. Plank wing with dihedral quarter-ends. And no problem with humidity changing the shape, as I had in North Carolina.
The baby will be here when she arrives. I don't know a date, but I'm pretty sure she will know when it is time. (I've sorta slipped into Navajo time over the last few months)
/johnny
LOL re: "focus" problems.:)
I have early church tomorrow, so my day is done. Take care, Johnny. 14 you-know-whats.
By “thing” I meant, of course the glider. Although a picture of the baby would be awesome also.:-)
Maybe Ev could help me empty cans.....

Nighty-night.
Good morning Dawn Patrol. Posting and running here, daughter and I leaving on road trip, will check back in later.
Have a wonderful Lord’s Day everybody!
Good morning everyone. We had a strong storm pass thru about 6 p.m. yesterday, and it knocked our cable and internet out for a few hours.
Have fun, and be safe, prairie.
Good stroy, jtill...”Change” ...I’m asking folks if “change” means going back to another attack like 9/11...
Oooooooo.....Good one, Molly!
Good article. Thanks for posting it.
Jemian, how're you feeling these days?
I'm going to check in more frequently from now on. I've missed y'all...
We’re going to have that this am, except we’ll have grits instead of potatoes. In fact, I think I’ll turn on the coffee pot in a few minutes.
johnny, your beer-plane sounds interesting. One can at a time, huh?
Funny you should ask that just now. I have been getting more and more run down since I landed. Which is a surprise because last year I got better and better. But the heaviness in the chest became heavier, and it was became more of an effort to breath and my cough became rumblier. On Wednesday it was apparent I needed to see a doctor. However, during the time I've been gone, my insurance company changed guidelines of how to get in to see a doc. I spent about an hour-an-a-half trying to find one and ended up going to the emergency. I didn't really want to do that for a non-emergency but I did know that I needed to get some treatment.
Of course the first thing that was done was to check to see if it was a heart problem. But skipping to the end of the story, I have bronchitis (and am anemoic) and am now on an antibiotic, albuterol and a steroid. I still tire easily although not quite as easily and my cough is less severe. I think my bronchitis is better.
In an unrelated incident, my left ankle "turned" Friday night and so now I'm back in an ankle brace and am using a cane.
anemoic = anemic
it was became = it became
Oregon is a lost cause. MOVEON.ORG is alive and well here. Young people just ooh and aah over the glib speaking, empty brained OBAMA.
A taxpayer voting for Obama is like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.
I wonder if something like that would wake some people up?
No, I don't think so they are too overwhelmed with Obama and his retoric. They will be mightily surprised when they finally get the bill! But, will they ever see the light?
