Hi everyone.
Price of crude oil is climbing again as the markets open this morning.
Comedian George Carlin has died.
And the main campaign season is underway as the candidates and their surrogates appear on talk news shows, in ads and across the country before groups. It's going to be a long summer....

Good morning!\
Just checking in. Lots of stuff to do today. Temp is 56 this morning, a lot cooler than we have seen.
I will check in later.

Good Morning! I’m about ready to take my coffee and go out to the terrace. I’ll cover my neck and face in Vanilla, which seems to do a good job keeping the knats away.
I wonder if I’d douse my coffee with vanilla, it would keep the knats from wanting to swim in my coffee cup?

oh does that look yummy...thanks lysie....what kind of bread is under the eggs? plain toast with the crust trimmed, maybe?
I've exercised...now going to quilt, then to see my mother.
Jemian, I sure hope you're on the road to recovery with the meds you're taking. I've discovered that some of those inhalers require you to rinse your mouth after use...

Good morning ATRW’ers! Daughter and I arrived back safely from our side trip. Hopefully the entire road trip will be over by the weekend and we’ll be home for a while.

You are right. I was advised that in the ER. The reason given is that they can cause a yeast infection if left in the mouth.

Vanilla is good against bugs. We use it in Papua when we go to a beach to keep off the sand fleas.
BTW, GOOD MORNING, EVERYONE.
My condolences to the George Carlin family.

Good Morning: Staying home from the clinic today to mow the upper lawns.
I put up a cord of wood last Sunday with help stacking the 2nd half. Saturday, I had another cord delivered but no helper - they said they would send someone to stack it in the wood porch after 6 p.m. I knew that wouldn't work because we had rain coming. So...I did it all by myself.
I am grateful I can do that kind of work at age 73!
IG - hope your part of Iowa is recovering. How very horrible! Our Nehalem River flooded after our December storms and the clean-up continues all these months later.
In Iowa, as well as here, the scars will remain long after the rest of the world has forgotten

The clean up is going to take some time, but the REPAIRS will take even longer. Lots of people are stripping their home down to the studs because of Mold.
It’s going to take quite a bit of time to get things put back together.

I cannot even imagine. Sitting here wanting to help and not being close enough is so frustrating. All I can do is remember and pray for good things to come from this for the people of Iowa.

I have 3 bags full of uniforms that I can't get rid of easily. So.... I am making a quilt. On the front, it will be a BDU (Battle Dress Uniform) uniform front, with BDU pieces to fill in. On the reverse side, it will be a DCU (Desert Camouflage Uniform) uniform back, with DCU material pieces to fill in.
I haven't figured out what to do with the blues.
/johnny
To: JRandomFreeper
Can you make the borders out of the blue materials?
To: JRandomFreeper
Wow! Great idea.
Make pillowcases out of the blues.:)

BDUs are primarily green, DCUs are primarily brown. Both are good colors for my house, as I am using green and gold (no, Mozie, not for that reason) as primary colors here.
Blue doesn't work for anything.
I may use the blue for a background for my "Love me" wall on which to mount my decorations/plaques/badges, etc...

To: Mozie
For a colorblind guy, I act like a limp-wristed sissy when it comes to getting my house right.

To: JRandomFreeper
Blue doesn't work for anything.Okay, then make pillowcases and send them to me (our bedroom is blue.:)
Personally I feel that green & gold makes an excellent color scheme for any room (you should see our den.:-)

Did I know you were colorblind? I don't think I did...........
A guy in our choir is colorblind (former Navy seal, Vietnam vet). He can see certain colors but no red or green or shades thereof.

/johnny
To: Mozie
Colorblind was the reason I had to go to Commander, USAF Reserve, Colorado, to get a waiver, and delayed my re-entry until the 10th Jan, 2002.
I had fought that battle once before.

Turns out that the upside of being daylight hampered... Is that I see as well as Gen II nightvision in the dark. Literally. I pulled the headset off and led.
Monochrome... but seeing is seeing.
No complaints here.
I can live with that.

To: JRandomFreeper
Oh! I thought the waiver/delay thingy was because of your hearing.

Well, I hope you are right. McCain isn't as bad as the Magic Negro. That's not saying much, but I suppose it's something.
My lib friend told me in March she intends to vote McCain. The only thing she doesn't like about him is his pro-life stance. Seems to me if you are a liberal or Democrat in this country you're sitting high and easy however this election turns out. It's the conservatives that have been shafted (or shafted themselves, perhaps) and have to swallow their bile and pride to vote for John McCain. I wish I trusted the man, but I simply don't.
However, I trust the Magic Negro a lot less.
And I'm still thinking of getting one of these t-shirts:

LOL!

Your navy guy might not realize his abilities until he tests them. I had to get into rods and cones with my eye-doctor before he understood what was going on. (And then, we elected him mayor....)
Test is pretty basic. Sit outside on the porch until your eyes adapt. Steal (insert appropriate fruit here) and return home without upsetting the local dogs or landowners.
Frenchy keeps beers in the garage refrigerator.
They seem to evaporate.

Ah. Evaporating beers. How very odd.;-)
Every time Ev comes home the same phenomenon occurs in our fridge. Go figure.

I forget about being deef sometimes. But there was that, as well.
Mainly the color-blindness. USAF wants folks that can sort wires.
A little prayer for me might be appropriate at this point.
I'm not in love. Really. But She got in contact with me today. After many months
I just want what is right.

She's smart, hot, and black. So we've got a few issues up front. I'm smart.
But she is beautiful, smells wonderful, and has good kids that are mostly grown.
Did I say she was beautiful?
Baptist boys in Lake Worth, Texas don't marry black girls.
Hurdle #1.
I am NOT IN LOVE!.
Really.
Really, really.
/johnny
To: JRandomFreeper
OH, I remember her!.......or rather, remember you mentioning her once or twice.
Black/white.....not an issue imho.
.......and to state the very, very obvious..............."Methinks thou dost protest too much.":)

Being in love would cause some problems. So I can't be.
Giving up on Her would cause other problems.
I should be dead, and the newspapers listing how the catz ate me at this point.
Dratted catz.

To: JRandomFreeper
If you're going to have problems either way, I vote for being in love and having problems. Better than being alone and having problems, n'est-ce pas?
Toodles for now; I have to go teach a lesson.

Oh I forgot you don't love her...:-)
Sheesh I'm sounding like Dear Abby.
Now time for me to get back to being a grump....:-)

Singing Ira Gershwin songs into the sunset won't fix this. Even when she knows who Ira Gershwin is.
The "Sound of Music" doesn't cover this.
"South Pacific" doesn't work either
I've got it bad. I'm going to bust out in song....
"THE HILLS ARE ALIVE......."
