I haven't been sleeping much lately, my husband is somewhere on the other side of the world and I haven't spoken to him or received an email from him all month!
Anyway, I was just doing some surfing and I thought I'd ask my FRiends for some of their favorite web sites (other than FR of course) so that I can get some new surfing ideas.
So what are your favorite web sites that you regularly visit or have found recently?
My top ten can't miss sites are: 1) FR (of course) 2) Weather.com (Don't know why) 3) ebay.com (what's for sale out there?) 4) perezhilton.com (trashy gossip) 5) powerlineblog 6) riehlworldview 7) fox.com (for 24 spoilers, when the show was actually on!) 8) amazon.com (to see what's new in books) 9) verabradley.com (check out the new patterns/styles) 10)dailylit.com (really cool site which emails installments of books for free (or cheaply)
So turn me on to some cool new sites to amuse me during my period of insomnia!!
Thanks! GG

and check out the ‘street view’ feature.
This should keep you busy :-)

It's icanhascheezburger.com, and it's just pages and pages of funny cat pictures with silly captions. I love it! It's also linked to a similar page for dogs, as well as politics and office charts based on popular music. All a complete waste of time, and very fun.
Also dlisted.com, like perez hilton, trash talk about celebrities. Lots of "guess whose cellulite this is" sort of junk. Hey, you said insomnia. I wouldn't recommend this for anything less urgent.
Yes, I know where he is and I’m sure he’s having a great time but it’s so weird not to be able to communicate with him at all. He’ll be back to relative civilization soon—hopefully this weekend!

To chill out, I like to put all my favorite old tunes into searches on youtube.com and watch the live performances. I also look up my favorite dance routines on “So You Think You Can Dance” and “Dancing with the Stars.” If you haven’t seen it, look for the ventriloquist winner on last year’s “America’s Got Talent”.

Bless you! I know where he is, he just doesn’t have access to communication technology right now. I know he’s fine, it’s just weird not to have any way to talk or write.
I’m spoiled I guess, even during the Gulf War it was more difficult to stay in touch. I just think of my grandparents during WWII when Grandpa was doing bombing missions over North Africa and Grandma had to wait for the mail to come!!! I don’t have it so bad!!
We’ll be back together soon for a brief period until he actually deploys.
