Inside scoop
Shhhhhh
you did not hear it from me! I am not revealing the location to protect my source. When it is published by our local paper I will.
Our local Wal-Mart called an employee (selected) meeting this evening to announce a change in scheduling and new procedures. It is expected that 9 employees will have their schedules drastically altered during the meeting.
Law Enforcement Officers will arrive during the meeting and escort the 9 employees in handcuffs through the store to waiting vehicles. Or just out the back door, to avoid any kind of problems (law wise).
These selected employees, over the last several of months, have been steeling from the store and probably longer. They stole $23,000 to $25,000 in merchandise from the store. Wal-Mart has absolute proof they did it. Video. Inventory records.
The meeting was scheduled for 6:30 pm Central time so this is on going right now.
I doubt I will have an update as to the results until this time tomorrow.

My source hopes they will perp walk them through the store. I doubt they will do that but you never know with Wal_Mart they take this kind of thing very seriously.

Big money shoplifting is why. My sis has worked at Wally world for several years and says they accept a certain ammount of shoplifting and empoyee theft as a cost of doing business.

Used to do it for a living for Marshall's - it's generally S.O.P to have the local constabulary involved at a pre-arranged time when you pop a co-worker. The majority of most stores' shrink comes from employee theft. Once, I worked with an internal investigator and another district LP dick - we ran about 300 ft. of coax, and installed a pinhole cam next to the cash office. We busted an employee we thought had skimmed a few hundred off the top by dummying up some cash vouchers, but the bonehead copped to over 20 grand in 14 months - it financed her new car in the parking lot! You'd be surprised at the inventive ways people find to lift a little inventory. The worst ones are the bands of gypsies that hit towns like clockwork. Once, we had an entire cash till disappear out of a locked register. On a busy day, with all lanes open. And the cameras didn't even catch it - that's how slick an operation they run.

Man, I hated seeing audits like that. Might as well sit at home and drink beer when the suits get underfoot - nothing gets done. I guess in your case, that's how it got done to begin with. Being in LP is both an adrenaline rush (hitting the door and rolling across the floor while cuffing a squirming perp is an endorphin high you wouldn't believe), and a mundane pain in the ass. Plus, if you have your SPO commission, the cops make you do all
their paperwork. LOL I got my revenge on some of them, tho - I ended up running the uniformed ops for a retired cop in the D.C. area who owned a private security/investigations firm, and who liked to employ his barracks buddies for off-duty special assignments. Guess who had the authority to pull post inspections (and rank) on them. HA-HAHAHAHAHAHA!

In another lifetime I owned a restaurant and nightclub....
I hired a undercover investigator as a busboy to watch what went on with the staff when I wasn't watching....Yes, I had suspicions....
He uncovered several issues however the best was a girl selling Meth out the back door of the nightclub to a variety of riff-raff....Most employees knew but wouldn't “rat” her out to management....
I contacted local PD and they worked undercover with us to document the criminal activity....
One morning, I scheduled all the staff to “clean” the facility....Two undercover detectives from the local PD showed up to have morning coffee with me....Of course they had her arrest warrant in hand....
I left word in the kitchen when she showed, to send her up to “talk” to me. She showed and asked me what I wanted...I said not a thing but the detectives rose up and arrested her in front of all the staff......
I didn't have a problem with anyone for almost four months....

This past Saturday we purchased a Wii from a Wal-Mart located in a seedy area of town. I had called ahead and asked the gal in electronics to hold the Wii game for me. When we arrived, it was hidden behind a small curtain underneath the cash register. All the Wii accessories were locked up, as well as all video games. She double bagged the Wii, I guess so no one would see what it was and steal it from us. After we paid, she called security over the intercom and let them know we would be walking through the store and leaving with a Wii (she used some code words and gave our receipt number). Couldn’t wait to get into the locked security of our Tahoe and drive away!

I will FReepmail you an up date as soon as I have info on what went down. I do know that one of the employees worked in the jewelry dept. and was changing prices drastically and not up! This is one of the few places where you can actually pay and checkout right there and not have to go through the normal lanes.
I am finding all of this interesting. I remarked to the person who told me all this that Wal-Mart will probably just fire these employees. Oh No, Was the reply! They are going to actually arrest them and haul them out of the meeting!
Since you have a lot of experience in this area. Could it be possible that Wal-Mart could also go after the people who this employee sold the marked down items to? You know the same one or two customers over and over? Or family members if that is the case?

This happened at our local WalMart several years ago.People were coming in and loading up carts with hundreds to thousands of dollars of merchandise and going to a relatives check out lane and the relative was selling the stuff for much less. The store management kept them under watch for awhile then in one day pulled a sting operation much like your store and arrested the perps. There were quite a few people involved. Another case was at our local Roses store, an employee was drastically marking down furniture, lawn mowers, expensive items like that and then her husband would come through and pay for it at her register. The lady who was doing that just got fired. They didn’t prosecute her.

About three years ago, I was doing a weekend demo (Gameboy) at the Marble Falls Wal-mart and was stationed next to the jewelry dept.
An elderly female employee dropped an engagement ring (1/2 ct., at least) on the floor and shuffled off.
I got her attention, pointed to the ring on the carpet, and I got the most hate-filled look as she picked it up.

Update on my report on Wal-Mart Employees.
The meeting was not held as a group. Apparently the Wal-Mart official scheduled small groups, two at a time or individuals for their meeting.
What happened is that 2 employees were arrested, handcuffed and perp walked through the store. They were charged with Grand Larceny a felony. One had stolen over $8,000 and the other over $10,000.
One suspect did not show for work last night. Turned out she had started vacation
The others involved have not been charged yet. They may be dealing and talking.
My source said that this event was all screwed up. He said he has seen this kind of action by Wal-Mart before and they do the whole thing at once and everybody is arrested at one time.
All the suspects were women and I will use the tried and true reporting procedure of the MSM to restrict any further physical descriptions. Wink!

Several years ago I would sometimes patronize an all-night restaurant that usually was fairly busy. One night we went in there somewhere around 11 or midnight. After our waitress made several odd mistakes with our order, we started looking around and it suddenly dawned on us that the entire staff were high on something. Then we noticed a drug deal going down between a member of the staff and someone who had just entered the restaurant.
After we left we debated what to do. I don't remember the full discussion but we decided that things had really gone too far and we called the police. We didn't go back to see what happened. The odd thing was that police actually ate in there fairly often.
